It also saves gas due to the downshifting and resulting fuel cut.

 

It does take a while to get use to it. I also tried to drive w/o the VSA but did not notice much difference. Not sure if that changes anything in regards to the grade logic control system.

 

i know this thread mad old but i just got a TL and was trying to figure out why the car was auto down shifting when breaking. I'm actually impressed with it, no complaints.

so... this thread has a lot of back and forth about what Honda's "grade logic" actually does. The following video on youtube explains it nicely... hopefully this will help others that are getting into a honda or acura for the first time, like myeslf
