With car being so new do we need to Claybar

Well, I am about to Zaino my car tomorrow and I was wondering, do I really need to Claybar the car first? I thought the claybar was for cars with ruff surfaces. But with my car being so new is it really necessary?

Probably not, but I'll be doing my first Zaino tomorrow & will clay just to make sure. The local Zaino distributor sprayed some Z6 on my car, wiped it off & said that it felt pretty smooth already... However, I'd rather start off completely clean.

Post here whether you got much dirt embedded in your clay.

In theory, you need to clay it unless you somehow got it straight from the factories lot. In transit to your local dealer, it was exposed to rail dust and other contaminates that imbed into the clearcoat. If you don't remove them, it will effect your final finish. It cant hurt, and can only help, so go ahead and do it.

Just do it. You won't regret it. The comment above mine provides the answer given by the Zaino Bros. themselves.

I did. The clay bar didn't pick up any dirt, etc. , but the surface was definitely smoother to the touch. It doesn't take that long and it's even less of a physical chore than applying the ZFX. Just use the Z7/water mix in a spray bottle and the clay just glides over the finish! Really doesn't seem like it's doing much, but it is.
