Can't get OEM Type S sideskirts in KBP

ok so i ordered my type s lip kit in kbp and the dealer told me theyd get it in blue, when the kit came the sideskirts were white and everything else was blue. they ended up giving me my money back for the sideskirts and said that in NYC no one of the dealerships have the sideskirts in Kbp!... id rather get it oem colored then buy em and paint them and it doesnt end up matching,

Anyone has any kind of idea other then me buying em in silver, black or white from the dealer and then painting them over?

(ps i have a spare pair of stock sideskirts, not the type s sides but the original non kit set, that the previous owner gave me )

Try one of the vendors here. KBP might be discontinued? You might have to get the sides painted, its what I had to do. It wasn't too expensive and they are color matched perfectly. A good body shop will be able to match the paint, I wouldn't worry too much about that.

which vendor? i havent seen anything related to just the sideskirts? if its cheaper (including s/h) then 300 then id consider it but it would have to be singificantly cheaper seeing as i still have to spend like 150 to paint minumum

Bruce(AcKTL05) or Tim(oemacurapartstim). They can order any oem part you want including just the side skirts. My sides were like $267 shipped i think. Who knows, maybe one of them can get you some some KBP ones.

IIRC KBP are no longer available but yeah check the vendors out first like ntt said.

Yes I had to buy the rear aspec in WDP and paint it SSM. It matches.

KBP is not made anymore, for sure. You'll have to get any color possible and paint them.

KBP along with a few other colors were discontinued some time ago. I'm guessing the front and rear are just what they had left for inventory of KBP lip kits. The stock side skirts on the type s flow pretty well with the front and rear lips, they have more of a flare to them than the base ones.

It will look good. Personaly id get the aspec skirts and have them painted but a lot of people have just used the typs s sides with the front and rear lips.

When I bought my ASM Type S A-spec kit I had to get the front and rear in white but the sides came in ASM. I had the front / rear lip painted silver, entire front bumper resprayed and the kit installed for $500 Canadian cash and they even waxed the car. It was well worth it and looks great - that was July 2012.

I would just get the proper aspec sides and get them painted - if it's a good shop you won't have any problems and will quickly forget that you had them sprayed.

There are 3 different side skirts for the 3g. The flat base ones, type s, which are slighty flared out and the the A-Spec side skirts, which are flared out alot more.

Let me put it to you like this. Acura only produces a number of these A-Spec products e.g. 100 front, 100 side, and 100 rear. Once they are bought out, they wont make any more even if they sold all the sides and had 5 front and 7 rear. Its a first come first serve deal.

OP just buy some A-Spec side skirts and just get them painted.

I think you are confuse. Your first post stated that you bought the Type-S Lip Kit (assuming the Type-S A-Spec) and when you received it; there was no side skirt in your color, but they gave you a white one.

Now you are wanting to go back to the dealer to see if they have the A-Spec in KBP. They dont my friend.
You have 3 options:

1. Wait for someone in the black market to sell theirs or post a WTB thread in the BM.
2. Buy the white and have it painted.
3. Stay with your stock side skirts.

Check out CLtotheTL built thread on the differences of the A-Specs. If you goolge it I think its call the Unofficial A-Spec difference.

thanks for the info...that clears up alotta my confusion kinda,

Modifications will have to be made to do so since the bumpers have different overall shapes and since the Type-S rear bumper has wider exhaust outlets.
•BOTH 04-06 and 07-08 Base front lips will fit a Type-S, but modifications will have to be made
•ALL A-Spec sideskirts are the same. There is NO difference between 04-06 Base, 07-08 Base, and 07-08 Type-S A-Spec sideskirts. Part numbers and paint codes may differ but they look identical and install the same way.
•ALL 04-08 Base rear lips are the same.

I am answering the ones I put in bold:

The 07-08 base aspec front lip can fit the type-s without modifying it. There are a couple of threads on those. However, the 04-06 base front aspec does require to be modify to fit the type-s. I dont know if the type-s front aspec will fit the 04-06 base bumper; not without modifying it too. The rear will fit but you will have to cut out the exhaust garnish to get it to fit.

yeah i saw that and was like theres a big diff in the bumpers so you would def have to modify it but why even do that, just buy the 07-08 bumper and grill and fogs then...

as far as my sides skirts i see that all years will fit but i should go with the A SPEC SIDES SKIRTS then.. prob flares out the most and matches the best with the type s kit

Yes, you want to get the A-Spec side skirts. They will look a lot different in person than your stock type-s ones and will complete A-Spec lip kit.
