Can't drive with my windows down...

TL is so quiet with all the windows closed, but I can't stand it when I open my windows. Its so noisy! I guess I will have to use my AC every time it gets warm.

Btw, have you guys tried going above 55mph with just your back windows down? Mine, it sounds like there's a helicoptor flying over when I do that. Can someone explain why it does that?

if you drive with all of the windows fully down...it reduces it a little bit it evens them out....and if you turn up your sound system things will get better

yeah, I've noticed a bit of a sound as well while driving around 70mph, while it is loud, I think that I can live with it. Once the windows are all down it's still loud, but not overpowering.

I view it as a good excuse to turn up the volume

The back window noise is awesome, isn't it? Something to do with the air flow and aerodynamics, etc. Try it with all the windows closed and then open one back window a little bit at a time. Sounds like the car is going to fall apart but it's just wind noise.

Does the TL have a lot of wind noise when the windows are up? What about mechanical and road noise?

well, i read a an article in the news (for once) that stated that rolling down windows even at 40mph is more fuel costly than turning ur ac on to full blast..... just my 2 cents

I've read that about A/C as well.

Most cars are so aerodynamically shaped nowadays that this effect is very common. The same physics priciples that cause this booming sound also are at play when you blow across the top of a bottle & create that whistling sound.

I also cannot stand the noise your are mentioning. I also wish the moonroof would tilt as much as other cars, so it would not be sooooo loud.

Yeah, the guys on MythBusters demonstrated that, too.

My last car, a 1998 Bonneville, was also very loud with the windows down. It actually hurt my ears. So, I just never drove with them down.
