Can't belive it.
Can't belive it.
I just picked a set of RB Rear Big Brake kit for my 08 TL Type of Amazon. It got it for only 378! I had it on my wish list for a while and it was like over 1K. So I was ordering some other items for another project and after that I was clearing some other stuff off My wish list and came across the item and was like

then

and splooge clicked it and confirmed same part number
2153-381 on the heeltoe site. Could not pass up the deal. I guess my truck engine rebuild might take just a bit longer. Post picks when they come in,.. Just had to say it. It was the last kit tho, I guess they just must of been closing the item out.

Looks like another is available:
Amazon.com: RacingBrake 2152-381-0 307 mm Open Slotted Finish Rear OE Caliper Big Brake Kit for Acura TL 04-08: Automotive
Nevermind, I see you posted the part number of 2153-381.
Pads are $200 to replace and are thinner than stock. Not sure I'd want that annual expense. Grats I suppose.
EDIT - Dunno, the 2152-381 for $372 in the link above seems identical to the 2153-381. Strange...
There's an old rule we went by in some other forums where it wasn't the best practice to actually "brag" about items that were purchased until they were actually shipped.
Here's some info comparing the two variants from RB themselves:
http://forums.racingbrake.com/showpo...3&postcount=20
"Either kit will fit under 17' wheels, and nothing else to buy. They are 100% bolt on kits (excepting bending or trimming the dust cover behind the rotor) which actually helps to run the rotors cooler, due to better air circulation."
So, looks like another is available if anyone wants it. Better grab it before a "re-seller" jumps on it.

Actually the pads are like 85.00 on the RB website. But the part numbers show 307mm for the 2152- and 327mm for the 2153- Either way post pics when it comes in and give head up on the install.
Dunno, didn't realize big rear brake packages were a thing, or sought after, until OP chimed in.
To the OP the vendor you compared to is wrong in their description, that's what confused me, it's the vendor you stated you looked them up on, they've listed the kit you bought as the 307s (2153-381). It contradicts what the manufacturer states in the link I provided earlier. Not surprised in their (HT) error.

I'm assuming you would lose ebrake function with this kit?
As far as the brake bias goes, I think it would be affected. The braking force would be the same, but with more leverage due to increased radius. Would a bit more rear braking power be that bad? Or is the stock bias 100% perfect already?

Well got home this afternoon and the kits came in. I ended up buying both kits off Amazon could not let a deal go by. The kits look the same at first but they do have different size rotors and the brackets for the calipers are also different. They have the corresponding rotor size. As or the parking brake the inside of the HAT is set up to keep the parking brake. I was going to install this weekend but now I have to deal with taking my car to repair shop. Some inconsiderate driver decided he needed to change lanes at last minute and hit my driver side mirror and broke it off, also have tire marks on driver side fender edges and part of bumper by wheel on my A-Spec kit. Will post pics later. One kit is a 328mm and the other is a 307.
Here are some of the Brake pics.https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwW...ew?usp=sharing

Huh, a 328mm rotor in the rear? If I remember correctly, the type s and MT models had 310mm rotors up front; would it be fine putting larger rotors on the rear?
Either way, nice purchases!
