can we do this...

i don't feel like reading the manual because it's in my glove in my car and I'm at work, but I have a question regarding our our windows...

I was wondering if we can open our windows from the outside just using our key just like that one VW jetta or passat commercial where the one guy calls his wife from inside the house to show her...

sorry if repost..couldn't find it in search...

thanks..

Yep! All you need to do is the following:

- Click unlock

- Click unlock again and hold

All windows should roll down. The downside is, without reprogramming your keyfob, you can't roll the windows back up...

Just hold the unlock button down, and it will open every window and the sunroof, they will move all the ways down as long as you keep your finger pressed down on the button. To raise them, insert the key into the driver side hole, and turn to the left once to lock, after locking do it again, and leave it there, until all the windows and sunroof are closed.. Hope this helps, rep points appreciated

What do you mean "without reprogramming your keyfob"? Can you program it so that it does roll the windows back up?

The key fob has nothing to do with rolling the windows down or up. To roll the windows back up, you turn it to lock, then turn it again and hold it, just like when you unlock. And it also does the moonroof too.

Which unlock button are you talking about? The only way to get the windows down or up is with the key. There is no button you can push that will move the windoes.

Sorry to break the news to you Ron, but my windows work as described. Hold down the "unlock" button a second time, and all windows plus the sunroof open. Didn't know about using the key to put them back up though.
Perhaps you have a defect? Not sure if this is a programmable feature? Good luck.

Sorry about that. I just realized you meant the unlock button on the keyfob, which makes your statement perfectly correct. Since we were talking about putting the key in the cylinder, my mind was thinking of the unlock buttons in the car. Good to know both of our cars are working as they should.

And now I realize what donkeykong meant, since you can't roll the windows up using the keyfob, but reprogramming won't help that because the function just isn't there..

I used this feature all summer long, it was great, helped cool off the black interior before I had to enter the car.

it's the thing with the unlock button, lock button, trunk open button, and panic button. it's the addition to your key

its dumb that it is not programmed to close the windows using a similar method, press lock, and then hold lock. It would be more useful then the open all window feature, because i sometimes realize that i forgot to close the windows, or my window is left open once i turned the car off.

:noob:
FOB = Old School small remote. Real PITA as I have two Acuras and like to keep keys in my pocket. Can't tell you how many times I've set off the alarm or opened the trunk by accident

Not like VW which is a much more intelligent design w/ fold out key.

AND - For those that didn't notice. There is a mod that lets you put the window back up. Agree this should have been included also.

Here's the info on reprogramming the keyfob to have the windows up feature(From 3G Garage):

https://acurazine.com/forums/wash-wax-23/nj-area-detailers-101211/

it makes no sense to me, but when i have some time, i might give it a try.
