Came Out of the Store to See This

So I park my car as far out and away from other cars to avoid damage from negligent drivers.

So as I come out of the store this is what I see. On the bright side no new door dings.

luckily the guy stayed and had insurance so im covered
So I decided to look on the bright side the insurance company just paid for some of my type s apec conversion!

Lesson learned don't park in parking lots. lol

Thumbs up

Best part of it all is that he stayed. I've dealt with way too many hit-and-runs on my TL and it's a pain in the butt to have to pay my deductible to fix it because the other driver turned tail and ran.

OUCH. what did he hit your TL with? damage is isolated to the front bumper as far as i can tell which sits kinda low.

WTF. So some dude nailed your car that was just sitting in a parking spot? Man, some people really are clueless (assuming thats what happened). Well atleast he stayed, I suppose the situation could have been a lot worse.

Was your car pushed back? Your kind far back from the line separating your vehicle and the one ahead.

^ I'm hoping someone who witnessed it would have written down the plate # if they decided to flee.

My dad's 335i got side swiped by an elderly lady a couple years ago. She reversed and parked in a different spot. A witness was leaving a note on his car as he came out. Explained what happened and my dad ending up going in the store to confront the lady. She claimed she didn't feel anything.. $3000 worth of repairs later his car was back to normal

Hey as long as you got money out of it, that's money to upgrade I wouldn't care!

I got hit and ran 3x this summer in plaza parking lots. I was able to buff out 2 of them, but the 3rd one my front bumper got chipped up pretty bad so I have no choice but to roll with it until I re-do my front end after winter. People in my city are corrupt, mostly immigrant refugees from india that don't know how to drive.

Recently I was at Wal-Mart and made sure to park literally at the end of the parking lot where no one else would park beside me. To my amazement, when I left the store to walk back to my car I see a student driver practicing reverse parking beside my car. I was like you gotta be f'in kidding me so I flipped on the driving instructor like buddy I purposely parked here to keep distance from cars not as a practice object for your students to learn parking! Go inside wal-mart and buy some pylons fool. Fortunately nothing happened to my car.

Yes there are. My rear bumper got damaged pretty badly in a parking lot of a restaurant by a guy backing out of the shop next door. The guy came into the restaurant and had the hostess track down the owner of a grey Acura (me).

Yes so I was parked all the way out at the end of the parking lot and there was probably 8 clear spots beside me. So the guy said he was driving and looked up saw my car and hit his brakes. That's why the damage is so low.

He was driving a buick that was his work car. But he said wig his other cars he parks way out in the parking lots so as to avoid damage as well.

But he seemed like a nice guy when I came out he was kept telling me how sorry he was and that he had already called the cops to do the report.
I'm just glad he stayed.

Got my estimate today comes out to $5900. The radiator is fine but the supports and part of the frame right there is bent and all the bumper suports and bars need replaced along with a head light and foglight and I had a beltronics rx75 radar detector unit in my bumper that got completely mangled.

But hey now since it's got to be replaced any how I'm gonna go with type s bumpers and an aspec lip kit. And have my grill paint matched NBP soon happy about that!

At least you're getting the aspec kit haha

Also the AC Condenser is in front of the radiator and is the closest unit to the front bumper, so if either of them got damaged it would've been the condenser first then the radiator.

Does your AC still work?

May not notice an AC leak right away, since the stuff would just evaporate off.

That's a pretty big generalization. Are you Asian (Chinese/Japanese/Filipino/Vietnamese)? Because I can say the same thing about them out here in Vancouver. No joke, an older Asian man hit my uncle's car in a parking lot 3 times while he was in the car, trying to get out of the lot. And most of the Indians in Toronto aren't refugees. A lot of them are successful businesspeople. Just like out here, driving Ms, AMGs, Lambos, Bentleys, etc.

My personal opinion on front bumpers and A-specs. I think the Type-S front bumper looks better than the 07-08 base TL front bumper. However, I think the 04-06 front bumper A-spec lip looks better than either the Type-S or the stock 07-08 front bumper with their A-Spec lips. Of course your own opinion might vary, but I thought I'd point it out in case you weren't aware that there are actually 3 different front bumpers out there.

As someone who lived in Toronto, it IS a big generalization, and not accurate at all.

It's probably because even though successful, they drive like they just got off the boat.
