Caliper Paint Color SSM TL

im bringing back this poll that i posted awhile ago but im adding an option. as ive said before i have a blue theme going on, with neons (eek), the blue LED's and the Illuminated Door Sills....im debating whether to paint the calipers RED (as ive seen many pictures of it looks great), BLUE (a darker shade of blue, this will go great with my blue theme, but i don't think it will be as aggresive and sporty looking as red), or BLACK (might give it a more stealth mature look)

I'd go with black or red. I found white was best for my white car, but for a silver car I don't know. Red perhaps.

I have WDP, I like the white, but I am putting on Brembo DR/S rotors and Axxis brake pads which WILL create more break dust, so over time I have no clue how the white will look. Where did you get your white paint from?

I just bought universal white engine enamel from duplicolor at advance auto parts, masked off everything except the caliper parts and sprayed 3 coats, 5 mins between coats.

I had a bright blue color before the white, and even after a full week of driving there was almost no dust on the calipers, looked great.

Its not hard but it is a pain to make sure that the calipers are clean and grease free

Brake cleaner first, then scrub with a brush. You can also use simple green or castrol super clean (diluted) as well, they both work great. This gets the area as clean as humanly possible. Let it air dry. As for paint, VHT makes good caliper paint, so check them out as well... http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com/vhthigtembra.html

No, it's not hard.. just make sure the area is prepped correctly. Make sure the it's clean and don't forget to tape off areas to prevent overspray.

Yeah those look like very good brakes and rotors but did they come with that baby blue paint or did you do that?

blktl1, NJAegean03, thanks for the tips, I will keep that in mind I just realized I have black calipers on my 6MT, so I dont need to paint it at all.

NFLblitze1, the easiest way to see a black caliper on SSM TL is to check on 6MT

yes I do, I learned how to drive a car in MT, so I just stuck to it since then. I have never owned a AT vehicle before and I don't think I'll ever own one. It's more fun this way, you feel more in control when driving a MT.
BTW, I am from your town

If you are into status, Porsche colors in order of cost of brake systems are Black, Red, and Yellow at the top.

I'd say black will look best w/ silver.
Check out ChrisQ. He painted his calipers black and he drives SSM S.
One of these days I plan on painting mine black, so let me know how the process goes?
