Hey guys im thinking about buying a 2007 acura tl type s. I am wondering what to worry about reliability wise with a tl type s with 156,000kms? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks
So 96,934 miles to the layman. If you are seriously interested in it grab the carfax and ask the owner for service records. Auto or manual? Is the body in good shape? I've read the leather interiors are prone to premature wear. And I think at that mileage the timing belt maintenance interval isn't far off.

156km is not "high" lol. Inspect the car as you normally would for any car and enjoy the ride if you end up buying it. Take into consideration timing belt job needs to be done at around 165km.
I purchased my 07 with 115k on it last December. It was religiously maintained and that is the key.The body and interior was mint and no accidents. These cars are very solid.Use your head and get PPI pull maintenance records etc.Its a used car do your homework so you don't regret it.Have 125k on my Type S now and its runs/looks new.I do believe miles are nothing on these cars if WELL maintained.
If its reasonably priced and in good overall condition, grab it
Mine has a couple of noticeable cosmetic imperfections which will get fixed, but I jumped on it because it was an 08 and priced several thousand bucks below what they're normally going for. And has less than 90k miles
Wow so many responses so quick. Yes im talking about the one at bank street mazda. It is hard to tell the condition online. Im going to view it maybe tonight. The price is good but i want the service records and I want to see if the timing belt has been changed as they is very expensive. Im technically going to be downgrading from a 2011 hyundai genesis 3.8 sedan with 39,000 kms to buy this. Ive always wanted one plus i want to decrease my debt.
From what I see it doesn't look like it's been really cared for
1) Discolored trim on the front
2) Engine bay plastic sitting in the back seat
3) Deep salt stains on driver side
4) As I mentioned, the traction lights that are on at the same time while the car is running - both lights aren't supposed to be on at the same time, this indicates a problem which I've seen heavily spoken about in the problems thread
But that's just me, best way to judge is going in person.
I had a good look at it and a few red flags stood out. The right fender doesn't align with the hood. The passenger door is rusting underneath and both door handles have large chips that are down to the primer. All 4 rims are also curbed rashed. It had a few dents and the side view mirros were burnt on the blue tint.'i can over look a few things but this vehicle is not worth $13,999 based on the exterior alone I didn't even drive it. Lump of shit!
Ya dilawris owns bank street mazda which had the tl. Its too bad its such a lump. I will keep looking but i prefer a white red or blue one.
That same Acura dealership in MTL selling that silver one has a MRP TL-S from the Stateside for sale but it looks like it needs a little love. KBP is quite the unicorn, be ready to play the waiting game for a clean one
You did the headlight overlay on the turn signal, and the overlay vinyl over the top half of the tail lights. Along with chrome trim pieces over the door handles and front grill. Also have aftermarket door window visors.
I undid all those for the current owner

If it is my car i remember the whole drivers side was repainted poorly and the clear coat started to flake off and the paint didn't match the rest of the car. Where is it located now and who owns it? Put up some more pics of it
