Buying an 06 TL or 07 TL-S?

I am thinking to buy a new 2006 acura TL, but the 07 TL-S coming out. So, I am confused which one to get? I know, there is no discout on 07 TL-S. But the 06s now are being on Sale. I think I could get a new 06 TL for about $ 31,000 with the Navi.

But, when I test drove the car, I like the 07s better than the 06s. The 07 TL-S are faster of course and the steering wheels feel heavier than the 06s especially when cornering, the gear ratio is also different plus stuff like new keys, back camera views, and etc.

Do you guys think I should get the 06 TL or the 07 TL-S?? I think in 2008, the new model acura TL will come out...

It sounds to me like everytime you drive your '06 TL and see a '07 Type-S, you'll be pissed. If you can swing it, get the Type-S.

Did you try the 07 TL?

I know what you are saying. Now, I am just thinking that how much money I can save for the future. I am planning to use the car for the next 3 years which means by the end of 2009, I am ready to sell the car.

I can see now that the 2004 TL on the market are around $ 24-28k depends upon miles. If I get a brand new 06 now about $ 31,000 then I save a lot compare to the $39,000 TL-S.

i told my self 06 is plenty good for me....!
beside this is my first luxury car...coming from 2000 civic SI-R....!
even 06 is like first class for me...lol

I know, I just mean if you bought a '06 TL and saw the '07 TL-S, you would probably be pissed...or maybe not. Some people rather save all of that money, but deep inside they wish they were driving that TL-S ahead of them instead. Of course, in a few years it will be upgrade time again.

Well, I just bought the 06 TL w/ Navi for a little less than $30,500 and the lowest they'd go on the TL-S was the $38,125 MSRP. (BTW, the lowest they'd offer on the 07 TL was $35,625.) So we're talking about an after tax $8000+ difference between an 06 TL and an 07 TL-S. The TL-S definitely had extra power you could feel and the backup cam was slick, but the ride was noticeably rougher in the TL-S. And yes, the two-tone, more supple leather and enhanced navigation were very nice. But, given the difference in price I opted to save the money, do the backup cam mod aftermarket, and save my dollars for the inevitable "project upgrades" I'll decide to do in the future.

But y'all are right--I had to deliberate a long time before going with the TL just because my inclination is always to buy the best I can afford. I'll just have to look the other way whenever I come across a TL-S on the streets.

Ditto, couldn't say it better. I put in 3k into my car , still 5k ahead of the game by the time I'm done the car my 06 will look prettier than the 07....and then I'll buy an 09

save some coin and buy the 06 because no matter which one you buy now in 09 when they come with SH-AWD you will want to get that and it will be alot easier to make the switch from the 06 with 8K in the bank. And for 1k in mods you can have as much power as the 07 TL-S. Besides, I am just waiting for the new 07 TL-S owners to rev on me and then see their suprise when they cannot pull on me that will be priceless.

Where did you buy your TL? Which dealer?

I bought at Sunnyvale Acura in Sunnyvale, CA. I should correct the 07 TL quote, which I think was actually $1000 less than what I wrote. Basically, they said they could do $500 off MSRP for the 07 TL. Like I've posted in other threads, they told me that right now it's $1500 cash back on the 06 models so prices have dropped across the board. You should be able to as well me as me or probably better if you're in a more competitive market.

If going AT, the 07 TL and TL-S have the modified RL...it can take more torque, holds first in SS...drives much better than 06....but like above, if going to go for an 09 then go for the dollar savings.....of course the 07 will trade in or sell for more..???

I have decided to get an 06 TL in White/ Ebony Int. with Navi... I am still looking for the best deal.. I drove the TL-S today, the suspension is too stiff for me, it bounces a little bit compare to the 06 TL, I dont have much time on the 07 TL-S, but I felt that the torque is bigger than the 3.2 TL. But, you know for that much difference on money, I could save some for the mods on the 06 TL, like doing the A-spec Kit, changing to TL-S tail lights and get the wheels coated in grey like the TL-S wheels..
