Buy 2006 or 2005?
Thinking buying 2006 tl non navi tommorow should I wait and get a 2007 or get a good deal on 2005?
Looked at navi 2005 is navigation worth getting or is it a toy for the most part.
Thanks.

I seriously advise AGAINST getting a TL without navigation. It makes the interior look so bad. Its funny because the fancy upper dash display that all nav equipped cars come with is just a cheesy looking clock display LOL. All I know is that if you dont get nav your gonna be regretting it each and every day. Wait for the right one with navigation!! trust me!

I guess you need to test drive both types, and see which one you like the best, and that also fits your budget. I have never had NAV in any of my cars, so it was not a big deal to me. The car is awesome either way IMO.

6MT + NAV > 5AT + NAV >>> 5AT - NAV
When i was looking i couldn't stand the non nav dash, This is for the 04 to 06. I think that the 07+ non nav dash looks much better. I am lucky i found a 06 WDP 6MT Ebony w/Nav, I looked for well over a year for it. I am sure i paid more than a lot of you would have but i wouldnt have been happy with any other combo, except if the color was NBP maybe

To late bought one this morning, really quickly (in about 5 seconds), have to get a closer look inside and out take it for a ride later this week. For the cash they wanted had to take a chance.
2006 TL 45 000 miles, auto, non navigation, black on black, clean history with one owner, no accidents, off lease..
Now i need to see what needs to be done to the car. Anyone heard of 128 point inspection honda or acura dealers do to a car before they sell it?
I probably will need new winter tires and steel rims for the season for sure an oil change, radiator flush. Online pictures looked okay tires looked as they had some tread life in them.
Will post update on the car when i get a better chance to look at it up close.

Went through the same thing.....I wanted a 6-speed and I basically had to take whatever I find.
The non-navi screen isn't too bad when you are used to it. It looks pretty good at night because it accomodates the blue gauges pretty well. It does look ugly in pictures though.
If you find the color combination you like for a good deal, I say go for it regardless of navi.

So did you close on the deal yet? How much did you end up paying for the car.

Taking hold of the car early next week. Took it out for a ride today found it has new tires but car tends to steer right when braking only problem. Maybe needs front brakes very soon good enough for awhile but need to get rotors and pads up front. Any idea of brake rotors and pads or part number from Honda. Can i use Honda Accord 2006 brake pads for my TL or need to use the overpriced acura dealer oem pads.
As for price let say i saved at least 10 grand over buying from those rapist acura dealers.

i would do 06 over 05, but the navi is one of those things that people will argue about all day. yes its better looking, it has many added feature, but for me the performance and looks of the aspec package outweighed the features of nav in my specific buying options. but, buying used is a different story and that will most come down to the care of the used vehicle and any other small details that will make one car better than another. but, newer is usually always better when it comes to "issues" and "fixes".
i bought my new non-navi 06 aspec over an 07 navi non-aspec for many reasons. A) the navi extras are great, but my tom tom does a better job over the stock navi. B) the fake carbon fiber in 06 turned in to fake black wood in the 07+ base models, and the CF looks WAY better. stock 04-06 suspension is stiffer than 07+ base, and my aspec suspension was an even stiffer and lower version so much better in my opinion. C) Aspec > Non-Aspec any day
If all you are looking at is 05 navi and 06 non-navi, then it would for me all come down to condition of car, color, miles, etc. 06 will be a better car usually, but a well cared for 05 navi may be a better choice.

all of these acuras are so nice and are built for class, luxury and sport. Buying an acura to me sounds like a good investment. My advice go big or go home (2007)

i had a similar issue but deciding between a 6spd or one with navi. I ended up getting a 6spd without navi because i got such a good deal and it has a warranty. dont forget the pros of the sixspeed!!! Faster, limited slip, suspension, and Brembos FTW!!!! If you enjoy driving definitly get a 6spd.

Congratulations on your savings... But 06 with 45K miles selling 10K below retail sound like either the retail (Acura Dealership) price was unreasonably high or the owner wants to get rid of the vehicle real bad. Hopefully you had a chance to check the vehicle over real good to make sure it doesn't have any inherent defect thats going to cost you $$$ or heartburn down the road.
Ten grand less i paid for my car that is exactly the same except i got 6000 km more or 3728 miles. Retailers are bloodsuckers never again paying retail.
My car is mint no worries..Only thing i'm doing is put on vehicle plate smoke tint covers and change the cabin filter. Other then that the bitch is in tip top shape.
Looking to get keyless remote only have one remote. Does anyone no how to program new remote driver memory 2? Or will my acura dealer rape me to program one.

I can't justify the $ difference between a navi or non. I just bought a 6MT 06 TL on Saturday without one and I'm not disappointed. I've never had a car in the past with navi and don't plan on having one in the future.

I have google maps on my pda phone, has traffic and everything, works like a great yellow page system. I'm sure it functions just as good as any gps, if not better as I can find the latest locations. Was my navi worth it? Every last penny. I would still pay 2k for the navi option. There are too many benefits of an integrated navi to list. Suffice to say that, for me, getting a car without navi is like having a pc without internet.

Nav isn't a big deal or a deal breaker. Never needed it. I' just more bling and crap to distract you while you drive. The aftermarket garmins and tom toms are much better than the factory nav and for 1700 less.
