Buh bye TL
So it's been awhile since it's happened (I don't like rliving the situation)...but here it goes.
Early Monday morning late last month, I was woken up by my aunt yelling at me about my car. I couldn't for the life of my understand what she was saying in my sleeping haze. Once I was a wake, I realized she was yelling someone hit my car. When I jumped out of bed and ran upstairs I really didn't see any damage, excpet for my driver side fender sticking up above my hood. As I ran around the car I slowly fell to my knees in tears. My whole front driver end was destroyed...as I walked around my car I seen that she actually pushed me back almost 4 feet from where I originaly parked and logged my car under my cousins jeep(lifting her car off the ground).
The girl that hit my car caused $9300 in damage, just to mine. So needless to say she totalled my TL. Unfortunately the money from her insurance barely paid for the loan and left me with nothing for a down payment.
I looked at many cars and even found another 3G TL 6mt, out of my price range. So I ended up with a MKV Jetta GLI Farehnheit. It has the DSG transmission, with the turbo 2.0. It's a smaller engine and a completely different car than what the TL was, but will do untill I can afford another acura.
On to the pics!
I will have pics of the new car soon as well. I'm not leaving the forum, I love seening your cars and inspire me to get back into one. But until then will have to live with this!

^ yea isn't insurance meant to replace what you have even if it is more?
I wouldn't be happy or let them give me a different car if someone totaled my TLS

I did have gap insurance and the claim was actually finalized the other day and covered the rest of the loan, so thank god for that.
She was texting and drivig on her way to school, she was only 17.

Sorry to hear about your loss, man that is terrible, how fast was she going? That's just reckless. Fortunately no one was hurt, but it sucks that your baby got totaled because of her recklessness.

Hello... Good AM!
Damn, sorry to hear and see about your loss... I would've put more effort into getting another TL rather than just accepting something of lesser value. Then again, we all don't know the exact situation if you needed another car ASAP, etc. Hopefully you get back in a TL soon!

Wow she killed your car good Let this be a warning to all those who fiddle with your cell or other things while driving, glad your not hurt and hope she is ok too. At 17 I doubt she'll be texting and driving again anytime soon, love to see what her insurance co. will do to her. She might be able to afford to drive again when shes 30ish lol
She may have killed your TL but cars can be replaced and You or Your Loved ones can't. Playing with a cell phone while driving is illegal here in Ontario, Canada I think it should be everywhere take the pledge:

Holy cow bud. I'm sorry. Where in Boulder/Denver area are you?
Glad to hear no one was hurt, you'll get back in one soon enough.
That chica should lose her license, quite frankly. There's no excuse for that kind of recklessness.

I tried, but since the insurace company was totaling the car they wouldn't let me salvage anything off of it
I live in Thornton, basically off of 128th and York.
