bug problem...

since i got my 06, i've noticed a lot more dead bugs on my front bumper then i've ever experienced with any of my other cars.

im assuming its either the HIDs or the TL sexiness factor that bugs can't resist, lol.

all my other cars were non-HID, and i drive on the same roads i've always driven, so maybe its the HIDs?

its a pain in the ass getting all of their guts off the bumper/grill/hood/headlights. i spent 3 hrs just washing the car (no wax/polish) yesterday, a job which normally takes 30min or less....

its time for my car's first coat of wax....

hahahah i totally agree with the TL's "sexy-ness". i never had bug problems with my old tiburon (which had aftermarket HID's with a porsche lamp conversion).

If you pay close attention when driving, like I do. You can see the bugs back peddling to get out of the way of my car.

I saw one doing the Catholic Cross before it hit my windshield.

Also a good quick spray wax after every wash can help make it easier to get the bugs off.

I not only have a bug problem, but a bird problem as well!

Spent 3 hours washing the car after work on Friday. Towards the evening when I was drying the car, I noticed a lot of bugs swarming around. I think they're attracted to the pearly white. Anywho, drove it to a friend's wedding on Sat. About 6 hours later, I noticed that the birds had left me 3 huge presents on the hood and apparently the sprinkler had turned on.

Washed the car again Sunday. Hopefully it will last for a while.

LOL! dude while i was installing my short shifter last week, i had the sun roof open and was installing it on the driveway when all of a sudden i hear a splat and then i look down and there is this chunky white crap all over the back of my right hand. (nothing got on the seats or inside thank God!) but yea i got out and threw a tennis ball at the birds who were perched on the power line. i had just washed the freakin car the day before...they never came back...after i installed the SS, i had to wash her before i got to test the short shifter because the hood and roof had splatter marks too...hahaha but yea i feel your pain brother.

Be happy you don't wash your car to only have if bombarded by birds. I've returned to my car after class, only a few hours, to find 20+ bird doppings on my car. Car in front and in back had NOTHING!

Maybe it's at a point where the bugs are multiplying like crazy in your area. I remember when there was little flies EVERYWHERE outside my house. Couldn't breather without taking in a few bugs.

i try to park my car away from trees at all times, so it reduces the chances of bird crap.

multiplying bugs, its always a possibility.

i need a big BUBBLE around my car at all times, so nothing can mess with it, lol.

Thats why you get only 35% fronts and darker in the back.

Back on topic, I was at an auto parts store and saw a bottle of easy bug splatter removal. Anyone every tried it?

Well any excessive rubbing or harsh chemicals used to remove bugs (bug/tar remover) can and will remove waxes and polishes.

I'd agree with lembowski. If it removes tar....

I'm pretty happy with my poor boy's spray and wipe. Its like a waterless wash thing. I'll usually wipe down my front every night to keep the bugs off.

lol. I wish it was that easy. No this is actually from a Klasse AIO + SG application.

Still looking good after 3 weeks now! the spray and wipe is just for daily maintenance to keep the bug guts and pedestrians parts from drying and setting in
