Brand for EGR Valve replacement
Brand for EGR Valve replacement
I have a 2006 Acura TL (3rd gen, 3.2 L V6, 6 MT) with ~167k miles on it. I'm the 4th owner; I purchased it from the 3rd owner in October 2021 with ~159k.
A few weeks ago, the car was hard to start, the engine shook a lot, and it seems to be underpowered. After about 15 miles of a mix of city and highway driving, I got a P0404 code (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Circuit Range/Performance Problem).
After looking on the forums and reading the service manual, I decided to clean out the EGR valve (which seemed to be the original egr valve from the factory) and the pathway between the egr valve and upper plenum of the intake with carb cleaner, and then deleted the code. I've driven about ~120 miles (mix of city and highway driving). This seemed to fix problem, but I do feel that the car is still a little more difficult to start than usual.
I have a feeling that I will need to replace the egr valve soon. I would like to avoid getting the oem valve from a dealer because it's rather expensive. Do any of you have suggestions for good aftermarket egr valve brands?

Just FYI, I change with oil myself about every 4k with 5w-20 full synthetic high mileage oil; the lasted oil change was in August 2022 at ~166.5k. When I bought the car, I had the power steering fluid, MT fluid, brake fluid, clutch fluid, and coolant changed by a mechanic. I cleaned the pcv valve and egr valve at ~164k around April 2022.

You're having issues starting and decide "i'm going to replace my EGR valve"
why wouldn't you look into things like the starter, spark plugs, air filter, etc.. you know, things that are associated with the starting of the car?
