Question Brake Replacement Time

Hey Guys,

I've got 85K on my '04 TL 6MT and the brake wear noise clips are making noises.

Has anyone done a complete brake job front and rear including rotor replacement?

If so, what brand of rotor and pads did you use?

I also want to install stainless steel braided brakelines - any suggestions for this?

One of the front calipers may need a rebuild.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks,

TL-Rocket

I bought

Rotora front and rear slotted and drilled rotors
Hawk ceramic pads (front and rear)
Stainless steel brake lines

All from Josh at Excelerate.

I paid around 700 for parts...I also have a 6MT with the brembo brakes.

There are other options but so far I love the look and the feel. No noise and little brake dust so far

Does your new setup perform as well or better than the stock brembos? Can someone who has an Auto Type S use the setup you got? thx.

I'm not the most aggessive driver but I think they perform as well if not better. The ceramic pads are great...very little brake dust.

As far as I know the front 6 speed brakes are the same as the type S fronts and the rears should be the same for all TL's

You can PM Josh or call his store to find out for sure.

AS for pics...not yet

I will have a thread when I'm done all my mods. Still waiting for my supercharger, tein SS and EDFC, rv6 pre cats, rv6 front strut bar and my methanol kit....all are in the mail.

thanks Audi, I am not an agressive driver either but I like to make sure I can stop during an emergency. I love the look of slotted and/or drilled rotors!

The Rotora rotors and pads are great. I had them on a TSX. For my TL-S, i decided to try something else so I ordered Dimpled and Slotted rotors with free ceramic pads and free shipping from www.brakeperformance.com. The parts are on the UPS truck and enroute.
