04 TL owners manual states to press the brake pedal?
IIRC'ly on my 2003 CL-S auto, if I shut the engine off with the shift lever in 'N' with the e-brake applied it won't let me take the key out of the ignition.
A lot of modern cars with push button start require you to push the pedal first.
Just curious, do you know the process for a modern push button start manual transmission car?
I'm inclined to believe, obviously, the clutch pedal would still need to be actuated.

He!! no, that's old hat!
Here is the procedure for the 2024 ITS manual trans.

no you don't need to press the brake pedal to start the car in an A/T car
Thanks. This is what I was wondering about. Was worried that I forgot some years back and have been ruining it somehow... cuz it starts up without remembering to put the foot on the brake pedal. If it was NOT ALLOWED TO START WITHOUT DOING THIS FIRST, then would be a DIY maintenance I should put on the list for spring.
Thankfully, this must mean nothing is broke, or defiled
