Brake override?

Any one have any clue if the Third Gen TL has brake override? With all this Toyota news about recalls and them adding it to their models. I've been googling to try to see if the Acura brand has it but I have found nothing.

Not a huge deal since we don't seem to have issues with our cars randomly accelerating but it would be good piece of mind.

I've read an article where they did the test of a Wide open throttle braking at 60mph, and they have found no matter what, the brakes are always stronger than an engine, and the car will stop. I think this whole toyota thing is artificially made up just to damage toyota's reputation. Don't worry about it.

Actually the pedal does get stuck in toyotas. It happened to my brothers camry once in traffic. We were chillen in traffic foot on break and engine started stalling itself up. Threw it in N and turned off the car and started it again. It went away after that it was wierd...Its a mechanical issue more than an electronics issue.

To the op you have nothing to worry about. Acuras/Hondas are fine with that stuff. They might not build the greatest trans but they got that problem fixed right. Plus really hard to screw with a dbw system unless somehow you glitch the software/sensor which again is hard.

electronics can do strange things
IF you should ever find yourself with a stuck throttle- put the shifter in NUETRAL
the rev limiter will protect the engine so dont sweat that,
and if it didnt- your comprehensive insurance or the car maker would repair it free
as a result of the main failure and death potential
Now pull safely off the road and shut the car off
Do NOT shut the car off while driving- you lose power steering and power brakes!
and may lock the steering ! not cool

Do not drive again- call for a tow

The brakes not being strong enough is because they try moderate braking at 80-90 mph and thats not enough
very quickly the pads and fluid are overheated and worthless--good reason to keep your brake fluid changed every year and have great brakes!
You have to stand on the brake with both feet- it may go to ABS active,,that will slow you down with a throttle open situation,
but getting the car out of a drive gear is the first priority

sacrafice the eng/trans over your life any day
