Perspective TL buyer

Hello all, my honda civic just got totaled and I have been looking at replacing it with an 2004 or 2005 TL. After looking at picutures and reading posts here I have fell in love with the TL. I live in the atlanta, ga area and have found some for $12,500-$14,000 with mileage anywhere between 60,000 and 90,000. Now I have a few questions and any help or suggestions would be great. I notice the more expensive ones come with the Nav unit. Is there a big difference in the Nav unit and non Nav unit? I doubt I would use it much since I have an iphone and can use it but I have heard the appearance is a huge difference. Also, is 80,000 miles too much for that price range? Would I have a lot of maintenance with a car that has that many miles on it? I know Acura's are suppose to last long but I don't want to buy one and spend a lot of money on maintenance. Once again thanks for anyone who reads all this and can give me there opinion.

The people with Nav will tell you that you can't live without it and the people without it will tell you that there Garmin is the best thing since sliced bread. Try out both and see which one suits you the best.

I would say try and get a later build date 05 or later TL. Not to say the earlier ones are crap but some of the early build issues were addressed later in 05. Also, keep in mind that the 'big' service for the TL is at 105k miles (timing belt/water pump)

Go w/ a factory navi. Among other benefits, such as aesthetics and voice commands, you also get a rear-view camera with the factory navi.

Welcome

My 04 TL doesn't have navi and that's the one thing I wish I could go back and change. If I were you I would go after one with the navi. I don't travel much, but when I do, it sure would be nice to have voice guided directions. My girlfriends TomTom is terrible.

I bought my 04 with 52,000 miles for $17,000 almost two years ago.

ok thanks ggesp, I will keep that in mind...i've read about how expensive that timing belt and water pump service can be...I will keep looking at both nav and non nav units, it seems like the difference in the prices for the two is about $1,000.

The Nav would be better when you go to sell the car again.
