Brake install >???

i just received my Rotors and pads from excelerate and im thinking if i should do the job myself or pay and have it done....

I called two guys and one quoted me 180 and the other 150...

what should i expect to pay and should i change the brake fluid too or is not necessary. Every shop i ask they say its a waste of money.

When was the last time you changed brake fluid?
As for the pricing, it is about right.

I did all four of mine in a couple hours in my driveway with jackstands.

I never changed it ... my car is a 2005 TL with 30 000 and change miles on it. My rotors warped a little and got all rusted so i decided to change. I do a lot of things myself but never done brakes. also dont have the place to do it right anyhow. Is it hard or is it just time consuming.

i say do it urself....

the first time i did it, i had a KNOWLEDGEABLE friend help me out....and it was a piece of cake....the next time around i did it myself without an issue.....

you will need a caliper piston tool available at autozone for $55....its a rental and they will give you the FULL money back once you return it

It's an easy DIY. Check the 3G Garage. There are several great DIYs with photos. On the other hand, $150 for all 4 is a good price, especially if that includes a flush.

You don't need a caliper tool, especially since the rotors are being replaced. Just use a screwdriver.

Acura owner's manual calls for brake fluid flush every 3 years. You are overdue.

If you have the right tools and place to do it yourself do it it's not that hard... if you don't then i would just pay the $150 especially since it might take a person the first time extra time to do since it is new to them... I have always done my cars breaks worst was drums lol... good luck

I decided not to mess with it and took to my guy who also did suspension work for me....he said 180 and 60 for a brake fluid flush which he included ATE Super Blue Racing Brake Fluid Dot4... after seeing him and his friend fight with it so much cause all the bolts were rusted and needed to to be drilled i only imagined kicking my self in the ass for even thinking to do it without a lift or jack stands and the right tools. So after all i gave the guy a $40 tip.
