Brake and Cross drilled Rotor suggestions for upgrade

It is time to change my rotors and I was thinking about getting cross drilled rotors. If I do the upgrade I think I will change the brakes as well. I was wondering if I get cross dilled rotors will I have to change the brakes as well or can I keep the same pads or get different pads and keep the same brake kit. Any suggestions on the best route will be appreciated.

Well, first thing first: do you have A/T or M/T? If you have an A/T you have options. If you have a M/T you have to run the stock brakes for now or some Italian brand but the rotors are about $500-$600 a pair. If you have A/T I would recommend ROTORA slotted rotors or you can run ROTORA slotted and drilled rotors if you want it to look a little better. To be safe, you should always change your pads when changing your rotors.

Spider0079,
I suggest you change out your brake system with Rotora BBKs. I sent my payment to him thru paypal to Excelerate on July 28th (last friday). He said he has a couple in stock so you should be able to get some from him.
I got the Rotora BBK 1 piece front in Red. I believe Excelerate also got it in metalic baby blue.

I have a auto trans. My rotors are going and I was going to try and get away with just getting the cross drilled rotors and if needed get new brake pads. It seems a bit expensive to get the whole brake kit. Will the stock breaks work well with the cross drilleed rotors. Also is the the Rotora ones the best to get.

ROTORA does make a slotted and drilled rotor. You would definitely need new pads. If your rotors are warped, so are your pads and they would warp your new rotors. The stock calipers will work well with the ROTORA rotors. And many 2nd gen TL owners run the ROTORA slotted rotors and love them. They are ROTORA's best selling rotor.

excelerate, just out of curiosity, I know the Evo's and STI's have the same brembo calipers up front, and the same bolt pattern. Could you possibly check specs on their rotors to see if they match up to the TL's, as well as pads?

Thanks,
John

I have AT with brembo front calipers just from MT, and I bought green pads from EC brakes, on the box I received there was STI part n umber, after I browsed their web I noticed we share same stuff in front with Subaru, so it seems much easier to look for better pads, the only problem is I can not find good rotors for rear, I have not converted rear from MT cause it's the same
if you have idea for rear write and provide pics,

I just got a quote Friday for $1300 for fronts and $80 per rear rotor, or $1400 for the full rear (disc) set (Rotora BBK). Is this a good deal?

Also, I was told that slotted was better than drilled because of possible cracking issues... Is this true?

I'd love TL Rotora BBK specs from someone regarding the dimensions and clearance numbers for a future addition of Volk Racing Progressive Spokes 19x8.5's ($749/each + tires...). I'm really out of the loop concerning this... Thanks!
