Today when I got home from work I noticed something on my front passenger door (near the door edge trim). "Oh no"!! I said. No matter how far away I park I still get a small ding on my car!! I'm very anal about the appearance on my car and I just smiled. After 6 months I finally get my 1st dent on my TL. Luckily I have the hook up with my local PDR (paintless dent repair) who I known since I had my old RSX-S back in 2002.

This will take him most likely 15min to repair, so I'm not worried about it. It's very small and I wish he can do it tomorrow, but he is booked until Monday. Oh well... Before I would get so angry and frustrated when I would get a dent, and I would have it repaired by the same guy over and over. So after going to his shop several times, we made a deal. I would pay for his lunch or dinner for every minor dent. I was cool with that. Saves me time and money

Hmmm, I'm thinking now if I should get the side molding for my TL? I don't like the looks of it. Nah... I'll just park even further away!!

The best thing about it was not getting a scratch or paint chip when someone or something hit my door. I'm thinking the guy in the gas station hit my car lastnight. Oh well, it's just a part of life.

does your "no dents and no visible scratches include the front bumper? from accidentally touching the ground

because i have no dents or scratches besides when i buttom out (done that a bunch of times sadly)

 

Actually not. Thats just not part of the car you show anyways. I did scrape the bottom front a couple times from driveways, no damage to my front lip spoiler. Just the black plastic peice.

 

Most paintless dent removal places cannot remove a dent if its like 1 inch from the edge. Something with the way the paint will chip off when its that close or something.

Anyone else hear that? I just remember my dad bringing his car and the guy said it has to be greater then 1 inch in from the edge of a panel.

 

I never heard of that before?? Hmmm.... The only thing they told me is they can't fix the dent where the lines of a car are. You know what I'm saying? They can, but it's not 100% guaranteed. I know they don't do any bumpers. I had several dents on my RSX and all of them were "repairable". Most of them came from the passenger side.

I'm sure it's well inside the body of the door. I'll check it out when I go on break.
You got me worrying a little. I'm still pretty sure they will be able to fix it. We see when I go up there this afternoon.

 

Yeah let me know. I am not saying it cannot be done, I have no experience with it. I just remember the guy telling my Dad he couldn't fix the dent because it was to close to the edge of the panel.

Maybe the guy didn't know what he was doing or my Dads dent was more complicated or something.

I checked out my car earlier this morning. I think it's about 1 1/2 inch away from the door edge trim. It looks very simple to tackle and get done. I'll let you know. I'm on my way there.

 

Put this on the cars that park close to you, I did last week to this guy who always parks in my complex and not in his driveway and now he doesnt park in my complex anymore

 

Yeah and then I go outside and no one is parked by my car but my car is keyed to shit by a guy who read it.

 

LOL. Thats funny. I would but I might get my car keyed for real. Besides, if I was crazy enough. I would put some card board boxes around my doors or even orange cones to prevent them from parking so close.

God I hate the people at work. They can't park worth crap. Looks like they are so late that they just park their cars all outside of the white lines and just leave to make it in the office on time. I'm usually one of the first to arrive at my building (6am) and I would take the extra long walk. Good thing no one parks around me at work!!

Ha haa... I'm like that too. I've been coming to work early since I've bought my TL just so I can find a corner spot at work.

 

Today I got my dent fixed!!! Took him 15min. I feel better now. Hopefully this won't happen anytime soon!!

 

Glad to hear everything worked out okay.

Just for the record , I get to work at 5:30 am just to get a good spot. So far in five years, I've never been hit in the lot.
