Bought a Acura TL 2008 Base

Finally after a year or so of researching the car that would fit my needs, I found the Acura TL to meet all my needs. Performance, Looks, and Luxury. I found a good deal on an 2008 Acura TL.

I'm new to this website and would really appreciate any input from you TL owners. Information on the Oil I should use, any issues I may need to expect, and other important details that new TL owners should know about. The car has 139000Kms on it.

Welcome! Congratulations on the new ride!

There is an almost endless wealth of information on the site. A great way to search would be to use Google and type something like: "oil site:tl.acurazine.com" without the quotes. One of the highest regarded oil combos is Redline with a Royal Purple filter.

Cheers!

Make sure you get the tune up done at 168k kilometers. Don't neglect this.
It will run you about $1400 at a dealership. Or $800 if you order the parts and have your mechanic preform the maintenance.

However I would only trust the dealership to do the valve adjustments. This ran me $320 at a dealer.

Congrats and welcome to Acurazine!

Regarding your many questions you may have, we have a 3G Garage which is at the top of the page (but under the sub section links) that will provide a lot of great info.

Pro tip: When you're in the 3G Garage, press "Control" and "F" and a search bar will come up, if you're looking for something about oil, type in "oil" and your browser will highlight the words "oil", it's very useful for finding info fast.

Same here... I've had a base 2008 TL for four months now and it's been great so far!

The only issue has been a clunking suspension noise but this was taken care of by replacing a front strut under the CPO warranty.

You've also come to the right place for anything TL-related.

Drive it in good health and enjoy!

105K or close to 169000, your service reminder will show on your dashboard when the timing belt needs to get done

They say either 105k or 7 years. Whichever comes first.

Perhaps you can ask the previous owner and see what work he/she has done on the car before you took ownership?
