Boosted Saturn.....nuts

So I don't know if this was a Redline or an Ion with an aftermarket supercharger. Anyway, I'm just tooling along on the highway and he does a patented ricer flyby just before we come into town. The town we're going through consists of maybe a two mile stretch with around eight or nine lights. He keeps jumping off every light of course. At the last light, I look over and nod. We both get completely off the clutch before getting into it. Anyway, I short shift second at 6K and keep the throttle down for the 2/3. It's tough to guage distance with a quick glance in the side mirror, but I'd say I had 6-8 lengths by 90 when I braked for the impending curve. We're talking about a four laner with a concrete median and no runoff, so no sense getting too stupid. Of course he does the obligatory flyby, while waving out the window. (People should be bitchslapped for that)

Anyway, he stays on it and I just laugh it off. Well, I wasn't laughing for long, as I immediately see an ominous dark car coming up fast, followed by flashing lights! I pull over, immediately wondering what the ramifications of this jaunt are going to be, in terms of both money and points. As he comes up to the car, I peek my head out and start apologizing profusely and explain I just like to give it a little juice on the highway once in awhile and that I let off at 80. (Small lie) I told him the ricer was taunting me at every light and I wouldn't play in town and also that he stayed on it to 110+. He asked me if I knew the guy and also said that he heard our tires over anything else. I have no idea where he came from. He also said he thought we were going to run from him. Damn cool trooper and I thanked him for being such! He took off hard, so I don't know if he was trying to go after him or not. If I had stayed on it, I think he would've been getting pulled instead of me.

I will say, I was sort of looking for a run today, since I just installed the test and J pipes last night. If it had to be with a Saturn, so be it. Car is pretty strong; AEM, P2R spacer, pulley, ATLP J and test pipes and BB catback. I've never laid down as much rubber on the 1-2 shift as I did tonight.

Actually I've never been much into praying.....until now. I did have visions of walking abnormally for quite awhile.

Funny thing is, this was the first real run I've had in 5.5 months of ownership and I get pulled over.

Glad you didn't get bent over. I think you did it, but always show your brake lights, never just let off and coast down. You don't know how many Civics have shown my GN their flashers after I put 20 buslengths and coast down at 100mph instead of hitting the brakes. There really are people as stupid as the Saturn guy that would think that after humiliating him below 100, his little Saturn took you up top.
