Angry bluetooth phone for verizon?

Does anyone out there know if there is a bluetooth enabled phone that works on Verizon's network? I've been looking all over and can't find one. Thanks.

It was the T270 Time port from Verizon. Discontinued.

I have a 270C on Verizon. It does not seem to support the Hands Free Bluetooth profile; I certainly haven't been able to get mine to work with the HFL. Since the 270C is now discontinued, the chances that Motorola will add HFP support via a firmware update are slim to none.

The only other CDMA phone with Bluetooth that's visible on the horizon is the SE T608. Alas, Verizon has no plans to carry that phone.

What I ended up doing was (reluctantly) dumping Verizon and switching to Cingular. The SE T616 phone works great with the HFL in the TL, and Cingular's coverage in my area is more than adequate.

where u getting your info cause everyone says no. Concensus is that GPS will be out for a few months and Verizon wont have it for a while. I would live it to be true, but highly doubt it. Maybe in a year

I believe they told you that just because people say the darndest things but I'd love to see how they pull it off. Verizon has a CDMA and AMPS network. I'd love to see how they make a GSM phone like the Moto V600 work on that!!!

It doesn't suprise me though because I can go into just about any cell phone store just a couple weeks before a phone is about to come out and ask about that model and no sales rep ever knows what I'm talking about!

I'm waiting for a bluetooth phone from Verizon too, but I have no hope that they will have one anytime soon. I'm itching to try HFL in my TL, but my contract is up in March so I have a few months before I can change without losing $175. I've e-mailed and talked to Verizon and they are clueless (most of their sales people barely know what bluetooth is, let alone handsfree profile). My plan now is to switch to AT&T if they don't do something by March.

For you Verizon customers, there is an on-line petition asking Verizon for a bluetooth phone. It is currently at about 1600 signatures. Couldn't hurt to add yours. The URL is :http://www.petitiononline.com/ver123/petition.html

I'm willing to bet we don't see a bluetooth phone from them for at least 12 months. Right now their focus is getting switching customers and getting people to buy text messaging and photo capable phones. They can charge for both of those features, whereas bluetooth isn't a revenue generator so they don't care about that.

The best thing to do is SWITCH to another carrier. With the new portability law in place you can keep your current number and go elsewhere. If they see people leaving, maybe they will do something and if you do switch let them know why....

I completely agree. The best way to get the message across to Verizon is by taking your business elsewhere. Whenever you cancel your service, they always ask why. If they see a ton of their customers jumping ship because of the Bluetooth issue, you can bet your bottom dollar that they will do something to stop the bleeding.

How many months? How much per month?

I have about 6 months left to go on my Verizon plan. I have an America's Choice Family Share plan with 3 phones on it; even at $175 per phone, that's still cheaper than continuing to pay for my Verizon service.

I love my SE T616, and Cingular's service has been excellent so far - not even one dropped call <knock on wood>.

Angry

According to Verizon, I would have to pay a $175 penalty for ending my contract early (it is up in March). I have just one phone, so I don't know how the fee applies if you have more. Since my monthly bill is about $50, I'll just wait until the contract is up and then dump them. That is unless they pull their head out and offer a decent bluetooth phone. (Doubt it!) I really want to play with the Handsfree Link on my car, so I'm trying to coerce my friends that have AT&T or Cingular to get a bluetooth phone (no luck yet)

I will most likely switch to AT&T and get a SonyEricsson T616 or the T630 if it is out by then.

Hmmmmmm, then Verizon must be getting into the GSM network business. According to Motorola, the V600 will be GSM compatible, not CDMA compatible. As such, the coverage will be a fraction of what you would get on CDMA.

Can someone explain the GSM vs CDMA, etc. I don't know the implications of this. I realize they are different chip technologies, but I don't know who has what or what has more coverage. Thanks

It's not different chip technologies, it's different networks. Different technologies and spectrums are involved. The networks with the best coverage are CDMA (Verizon) and TDMA (AT&T). Those are usually combined with the old analog networks to give you the best coverage. The GSM networks are good but they are still in the development stage in the US. It's the standard for most of the modern world. However, it's only available in or near the cities and major traveled freeways (you won't find coverage in Wyoming for example on either I-80 or I-25). Once you leave these areas, you have absolutely no coverage.

Ok here we go once again. I talked to 2 people at motorola and 2 people at Verizon. Your saying gsm....BS, look at the V60, everyone diffrent system has one. It wouldn't be unheard of to release all of them, at once. Call Motorola and Verizon *611 and talk to a sales service rep. The service tech told me that it was coming out and he had the picture of it and model.

I did a *611 and talked to a Verizon rep. This one could not confirm the release date, but she did confirm the Motorola V600 is coming soon (told me to call back in a couple of days...) AND the phone will be CDMA! No price was available, but she did offer one more interesting tidbit of info: Radioshack will have the Verizon CDMA V600 available for purchase before Verizon themselves will.

I wonder why they don't put that on their web site then? Could it be there would be something in writing or documented? Hmmmm, I think I wait to believe it when I see it.

THAT picture is THE LG6000 not V600

come on people that phone on Cnet's site is the phone i have right now which is verizon's supposdly top phone the lg 6000, it is surely not the v600. Lets not mislead people, lets get to the bottom of verizon and make sure they release a v600 or anything hot that has BLUETOOTH on it.

I will be yet another person confirming that Verizon is to have a bluetooth phone by the end of January. A co-worker of mine has a relative working at verizon wireless corporate. He has assured her that there will be a bluetooth phone, but he is not sure of the model. Tentatively, it is the V600 they are looking at, but apparently te V600 has not been licensed for U.S. transmission yet (needs FCC approval)

Gotta love the rumor mill...glad I could contribute to it

Don't confuse the V60 with the V600. The V60 IS a CDMA phone but has NO Bluetooth. The V600 is a GSM phone with Bluetooth Hands-Free.

There are both TDMA and CDMA (at least) versions of the V60. There is no reason why there can't be a GSM and a CDMA version of the V60 (though there is nothing on Motorola's website about this at this time).
