You can use Acura HandsFreeLink™ with any Bluetooth®-enabled mobile phone that has a hands-free profile. The first step of the process is to perform a one-time pairing between the vehicle and the phone.

If you do a search on this board, the P900 is listed as a bluetooth phone but not able to pair with HFL. Besides, it already has speakerphone. In any case, you just spent 800 bucks on a phone the TL will not be able to use. Both the P800 and P900 support a headset profile and the P900 supports generic bluetooth profile but no handsfree profile so you're out of luck.

I was looking at the 800 also but bought the 616 as they told me the 800 wouldn't work. The 616 is fine. Maybe you should exchange it as the hands free is great.

The P900 should work. It's made by SonyEricsson and so is the T610-16. I don't think SonyEricsson would leave it out on their top of the line phone. If you look at the accessories available for the P900 it also includes "Bluetooth Headset HBH-60 and the Bluetooth Car Handsfree HCB-30".
I believe Ericsson was the first to come out with a bluetooth headset.

I think that is the cheapest...hmm possibly the T39, oh wait, that phone still sells for $80+... Yes, T68i w/ a firmware update would be perfect but I have had the best luck with the T616. Between the T610/T616, my T616 has better signal, I think its because of the PCB5 antenna. My research will be posted soon. I will be selling my T616 in a month and a half.

NOX, watch out which phone you're posting. That is a T610 with the T-Mobile logo underneath. Even though they look identical, you might confuse someone who didn't know otherwise.

If you're in NY, switch to T-Mobile or Cingular.

now, I'm confused...
aren't all T610 the same ?

I know Cingular and AT&T use different models (T610/T616) which are almost identical except for the bands they cover... they both work with the HFP

You posted a T610 pic and said under the pic "T616." In any case, there are physical internal differences with the T610 and T616. Just finding some time to solidify my findings, after which I will post them.

yeah, I realized the picture didn't match, but this forum doesn't let you edit your post after several minutes...
that's why I posted the new picture and link for the T616, which I have heard has a better antenna and reception (new generation)...

thanks for pointing out my mistake... :licka:
