Blue ambient lighting in overhead area.

I just noticed the light today while driving, i guess its an ambient mood lighting thingamajiggy. So how do i turn it off? its two blue led light that shines on the gear shift/cup holder area. Didnt find anything in the manual about it and how to turn it off.

turn off your parking lights, and they will shut off

Alternatively, turn off your headlights and they will turn off. But it's not recommended that you drive at night without your headlights.

I love those blue ambient lights, especially when you're wearing a white long-sleeved shirt.

If you can disable them, you could probably shave about 2-3 nanoseconds off your 1/4 mile time.


I looked into making mine brighter, but I found out they aren't typical T1-3/4 LEDs. They're surface-mount and, probably, as bright as any available. Oh well.

Why would you want to turn those off anyway? I think they make the center console and shifter more visible, as well as look fly! What I do find annoying is that instead of place the Bluetooth readings on the radio display they put it beside the speedometer, where its hard enough to see!

What's even better is when you get a shiftknob like the one I had (a Momo Sphere) where the blue ambient lighting reflects very clearly on the shiny top surface.
