Part of the Type-S If we chromed this, it would be come out weird. The S and probably the border would be dark chrome, but the "Type" under the clear layer would be regular chrome still.

We've had people ask us to do dark chrome on this emblem. Is this proposition good enough?

 

Might look strange at first but if there isn't any harm in trying it then go for it. We might be presently surprised.

I made it darker, but this is just a photoshop, I don't know how dark the emblem would actually be after the treatment.

 

well, the important thing is the contrast between the S and the Type...if that is ok we'll take the next step.

 

I like it but I still prefer the "Type" in black chrome. Either way what would be the total price for the "A"'s, "TL", "Acura" and now the "Type S" emblems?

 

I would consider the package if the S could be done. Do you also have the slanted TL from the 07/08 or do I have to send that in for you to chrome?

 

Howabout the red part of the emblem be made black! did someone in these forums have something like that...swear i saw it in a picture somewhere on a wdp

 

The "Type" can't be black chromed, because it isn't chromed in the first place.

 

I actually Plasti-Dip Type-S emblem about a month ago..just black out letter "S". It came out really great because i like how it matches with the tail lights ( dark chrome and red)

 

It's a good look. It will look great on a black or red Type S.

I think it looks sick without the "type" being black chromed.. gives a nice contrast IMO

I made mine. I took the red inserts out and air brushed a black chrome finish on the S. Then to remove the chromed TYPE, I used a pic and scraped out the chrome and painted black. It came out nice IMO.

I don't think I have that privilege yet. My first day here but I will get one posted in a few weeks.

 

I purchased the black chromed emblem kit from HT, so the color of the typeS emblem are off a little. I like the typeS better cuz it is a bit darker. I will end up redoing it again from my original emblems so there are uniform except this time I will be trying a powder coating. If you try this I would recommend buying a new TL and TypeS emblem together so you get the foam insert to adhere it back on the car perfectly.
