Best windshield wipers ever (3G TL Garage# K-016)

Just wanted to share my opinion. The second immidiate upgrade I've done to the car is putting on the new winshield wipers. I've ran PIAA wipers on my previous cars and always loved the result. Put them on on the TL and love them once more.

Those are well worth the money. If anyone has ever used them, they can vouch

What specifically makes the PIAA wiper blades so good? I am thinking about upgrading my blades too and have looked at the PIAA and the Valeo's. How do they compare with the new Valeo Ultimate Wiper Blades?

Sorry to hijack your thread...

How's about "Silblade"? Has anyone tried that?

Thanks.

The PIAA super silicon wipers are amazing....had them on the car since summer of 04 and still perform well. The blades continue to make the water drops bead up and slide off the windshield. Sometimes i can drive in the rain and go for a long time without having to use the wipers. Definitely consider these blades. Visit PIAA's website for more info.

PIAA blades are very good. I had them on my TL since I bought it last year and the performance has been the same since I bought them. They are made out of silicone and not rubber. I don't get those black marks on my windshield after using the wipers. I have not tried Silblade but they are similar. Best of all, the PIAA blades are available as refills. Silblades are full units so you end up paying more. I got my PIAA refill blades on sale from imotorgear. I use PIAA blades on all my cars.

they are very long lasting and the silicone compund, that they are made out of, is very durable. Every time you use them, they apply silicone to the windshield.

If you go to the PIAA website, you can use the store locator function. I bought mine (for my old car) at an Autozone.

Still haven't changed them out on my TL.

After one snow storm, my wiper blades are wasted.

If I go with the above set, do I need to replace the whole thing (blades+metal support or whatever they are called)?

i like bosch micro edge excel... are these piaa better? they are more expensive, and the bosch i can get locally.

my wipers are about wore out (i live in tampa, lots, and lots, and lots of rain). i replace about once every 1-2 years. i will get the piaa if they are really that much better. anybody do a direct comparision? by changing from one to the other?

Tirerack has the PIAA wipers for the same price as pepboys. They even have a carbon fiber finish for the same price. yay.

Can we just buy the silicon blade refill, or will that not fit our TL wipers?

Good question. I was just on the pep boys site and noticed that the refills can also be used if we have the right type of blade.

My local store does not carry the blades so I would have to order them on line.

They do carry Bosch and Rainx blades for 8-16$.......

You are correct, I didn't notice the price difference. However the wiper at tirerack includes wiper spoilers.

$28 for the 26"

Hrm...

I see the blades at Tirerack being
$19 for 19"
$25 for 26"

and for the Sporza blades with spoiler
$24 for 19" (CF)
$28 for 26" (CF)

The Sporza Blades w/o Spoiler at pepboys
$21.55 for 19" (CF)

I have. They aren't bad, but they don't worth the money, IMHO. I got pretty much the same results (if not better) with the new OEMs refills (with the new windshield, though).

I think I'm leaning towards the PIAA silicone Carbon Fiber looking ones... Does anyone have the carbon fiber ones? Do they look good?

The Sporza's... Indeed... I am ASSUMING that the lil spoiler thing will "fit" and everything as it is listed as OK for the TL. I like those as well...

It's the little things that a cheap (relatively speaking) that add little touches to your car that I like. Don't get me wrong... I'll take the ASpec suspension, but that will have to wait. These... These I can do. LOL

Guys, the regular SUPER silicone piaa wipers on both tire rack and pep boys do NOT have spoilers. They come in carbon fiber look and black. The SPORZA HAVE the spoilers and they are more expensive. The one's at pep boys are $ 22.41 for the 26" ( 93065) and $17.24 for the 19" I ordered those in black.Ther is NO tax and NO shipping there. Do a search by the part # and you will see

You guys have me very interested. I bought some wipers a few months back and they are crap. I forget what they were (maybe Bosch). In my previous car (Prelude), I always bought just Gen Honda inserts and had lots of luck with them. I can't seem to find inserts for the TL online (or at least for a reasonable amount of $$), so I bought the whole wiper at a local autoparts place. They don't work nearly as good as the OEMs.

How do the PIAAs hold up in winter?

We know it's more expensive. the SPORZA are Silicone so there's no difference in performance, well maybe more downforce when going above 75mph haha. But they have a spoiler. What's a few more bucks?

correct, the super ones and the sporza are the same blades but the sporza have the wing on them. I was just clarifying the post a few before mine because there are NO sporza blades at pep boys without the wing. A sporza MEANS it HAS a wing

I took your advice and purchased and installed PIAA silicon wiper blades (Pep Boys-free shipping). Ok, so I only have used the stock wipers in the past. But, I must say I am VERY impressed with the PIAA wipers! The best $40 I spent ever! I highly recommend them!
