Best windshield wipers ever (3G TL Garage# K-016)

Bringing this thread back from the dead.
I just ordered the PIAA silicone refills. Those of you who bought only the refills, what did you do about the windshield treatment? I called PIAA and they eventually gave me a part number and a telephone number to call, but the store I called didn't even have the part number in their system. Are you guys just using the blades without treating the windshield?
Thanks in advance.

If you really want to use the window treatment, what I did was I called PIAA and told them that I swtiched my PIAA wipers over to a different car, and I needed another window prep package again...they were very helpful and mailed one to me for free within a week or two. Not sure if it made a difference or not, becauase when I got it, it was like 90% dry, and I have a feeling that it's supposed to be somewhat moist. But either way...that's an option.

i just bought and put on the Bosch Icon wiper blades.....by far the best wiper blade ever. a little expensive but well worth it.
Bosch makes the best wipers and the Icon is the best Bosch....don't get caught up in the PIAA name, they are in fact nothing special.

nice blades, they apply a nice layer of silicon which makes the water repel very nicely. for me, for the first month or two the seemed to streak a little, and not water streak, but actually leaving streaks of silicon usually along the outside edge. not a huge issue, but i really like a clean window so it was a little annoying.
overall i like them, but they are still an older fashion design. right now i am using the Valio and have been really happy. They are A LOT lower profile than the PIAA and they work great. But i do wish they were silicon because i hate applying rain-x.

all it is is gel alcohol, so just spend .99$ and buy a bottle.

I am using the stock ones for right now but I am thinking of making the switch to the Icons because I loved them on my VW. Bracketless wipers FTW! valeo are good too.
How about some chrome triple blades?

got the PIAA SS blades, let's see how they perform the next rain! I actually prefer my glass without the rainx crap they give. Leaves a lot of marks.

I'm looking at getting the PIAA wipers as mine need to be replaced. I can't decide if the CF look will be tacky. What about the "spoiler"? Tacky?
Pictures would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I am using the Bosch Excel+ with excellent results. Tried Rain-X once & did not like it. With the Bosch there does not seem to be any need for it.

I love my "silicone" PIAAs, just not the CF.

I fixed the glitch
Avoid the Peak/Valeo Optix frameless blades... They don't clean well at all. They chatter loudly and the 26 inch blade's ends don't even touch the glass. What a waste of money.

AVB for President!
Edit for my post above
Bosch 426A for driver side
Bosch 419B for passenger side
That said, I'll probably pass on these.. the reviews that I'm reading all over the 'net are not that positive, except for the cosmetics (it looks good).
PIAA here I come!

Got the PIAAs!! These things are awesome.. I was in south florida ll weekend and it rains here there like crazy.. I barely even needed the wipers since the silicon that I applied and that the wipers apply made the rain just fly off. I dont know why some people like these, but they work great for me.. If the Bosch ones are really that much better, I will try those next.. But, I really really like these PIAAs..

Another vote for PIAA silicones!! Props to Elegant who convinced me to go for it.
I shelled a few $$ more and got the topline Sporzas (The one with the spoilers......really not worth the extra money lol. Regular PIAA silicones do just the same. Spent $50 on the pair!) That investment means I will keep buying these refills.
I thought about the whole CF thing.....Sorta goes with all that CF theme on my car all over the place.....Then I thought NAH! All the window/windshield frames are black. Meant to blend in perfectly with a car like mine that is tinted. CF wipers would stick out like a sore thumb, lol. Too 90s. Black is understated and mature.
I've had them on for about 4 months now and they work flawless. I was big on the the whole Rain-X thing but that stuff loses it's effectiveness after awhile and builds up layers. PIAA silicones wipe CLEAN. Buy em!

My civic si (rip) came stock with wipers that were almost identical to the bosch icons (don't know who fabricates them for honda). I fell in love with them and run to the store to buy the bosch icons for my wife's car. When I traded my wife cars for the one she now own's (2006 Accord) I replace the OEM ones for bosch icons and now that I have the TL I have done the same. Best wiper blades out there, period.
Once you get bosch icons, you will never try something different :p

Make it so
I just wanted to update the instructions for those who choose to buy from the Pep Boys Website.
pink_ttc posted some really great instructions a good while back, but if you go onto the Pep Boys website it is a bit different. Credit goes to him for these instructions. The updated instructions are below:
Step 1 - Go to http://www.1888pepboys.com
Step 3 - On the left hand side there's a "Part Number Search" area. Under it, click on "More Options".
Step 4 - For the Part Number, use 94065 and 94048 which are the 26" and 19" respectively. Keep it on EXACT MATCH. For the Manufacturer area, use PIAA and change the drop down to EXACT MATCH (just like for the part number). Leave everything else the same. Click GET RESULTS.
Step 5 - Your results should end up with the correct blades for $8.29 and $6.22
THEN BUY!
If you select FedEx Express Saver, shipping should be free!
For those of you looking between this and the original post on page two, the main differences were the following:
1. Going to 1888PepBoys.com is easier. One less step.
2. Prices for the wiper blade replacements are a few cents cheaper.
3. They no longer offer UPS shipping. FedEx is now the way they send stuff to you.
If it takes any longer for my order to arrive, I'll post it here.

I bought a CPO TL just recently and was wondering if someone could help me figure out if the blades on my car are oem or aftermarket. They have "mighty" imprinted onto the arm. I am hoping they are oem so I can just buy the refills

Does anyone know what the difference is between the Bosch Icons and the Bosch Evolutions? they look to be similar design but someone on another discussion said the evolutions are the latest update to the icons? is this true? also I was hoping to get a couple of opinions and debate going on which one of the followings is the best FOR THE TL!
Bosch Icon vs Bosch Evolution vs PIAA Silicone Wipers??
Also, has anyone used Rain-X cleaner on the windshield glass in conjunction with any of these blades? has that made a difference? does anyone else recommend using some other type of window cleaner/conditioner to keep the window clean of dirt and debri so that the wipers work the best?
