Best fitting Travel Mug/Tumbler?

For all of the coffee/tea lovers out there, I need a new travel mug that will fit perfectly inside our cupholders...(and yes it must be easy to grab and match the car, duh)

Have anyone tried any of these?

I'm leaning towards this one:

P.S. A lil' rant, I think we have the dumbest cup holders ever, the 1st one is way to deep, I can loose a 16 oz coffee cup there easily, and the 2nd one too damn high... WTF? I use the rear cupholders more than the front

EDIT: Yep, they are all ordered from here, but you need to buy in bulk http://www.discountmugs.com/

^ two should fit, but what will make it awkward is that one will be way lower than the other, maybe hard to reach. Stupid design.

TL1999, you don't trust yourself?

I got a travel mug for free from Gevalia when I bought some coffee. Fits quite well in the TL's cupholder. I rather like the cupholder design, much better than other cars I've had and definitely better than Ms1995hoo's RSX, in which the cupholders are sort of underneath the radio (i.e., the dashboard sticks out above the cupholders so you have to lift your drink up and out). I also like the depth of the front cupholder because it doesn't interfere with the operation of the 6MT, whereas in other cars I've driven (my old 1997 Accord being one) you had to sort of reach around the drink in order to shift.

I seldom allow drinks in the TL, but if we're on the road early in the morning I will bring coffee. The travel mug I have works quite well for this purpose.

Regarding the front cupholder being a bit low for some people's taste, especially with smaller drinks like cans of soda, I have a sort of "travel coaster" type thing in each of the front cupholders in my TL (nobody ever rides in back). I got them at the UVA bookstore in Charlottesville, but I can't seem to find a picture on the bookstore's web page to show what I'm talking about, so if I get the chance I'll take a picture this weekend. They're essentially very similar to the stone coasters you can get for use at home, except that they're smaller so as to fit in a cupholder and they have a small rounded cut-out on one side so that you can take them out of the cupholders if you want. While they're designed to serve the same function as the coasters you use at home, they have the side benefit of raising the drink up a little higher to make it easier to grab.

The link below gives an idea of what I'm talking about; these are similar to what I have:

Not so much a question of finding one as it is of finding the time to take some pictures this weekend and then to upload them!

Cool, I can wait. I'm just surprised that most of you are anti-liquid in a TL

I MUST have either Vitamin Water or Coffee in the car, I just must

....
I have two reasons:

(1) The obvious concern about spills, although my travel mugs are pretty good for avoiding such.

(2) More importantly, if one consumes liquid whilst in the car, sooner or later one will need to stop to take a whiz, and when I'm en route to somewhere I don't like to have to make any stops unless I have absolutely no choice (either to refill the gas tank or to get food). I figure that if you can't make it over 250 miles without stopping, you're doing something wrong.

(My record is 380 miles without a stop—drove from Duke University to the Varsity on North Avenue in Atlanta without stopping, then ate lunch and filled the tank and drove another 165 miles nonstop to Montgomery. Took about 7 hours of driving....I wasn't wasting time!)

I'm a neat freak, so my interior is always clean, and I haven't spilled anything yet in any of my cars.

And about taking a whiz, lol... Yep everytime I'm a on long trip I remember that Dumb and Dumber situation with the beer bottles, lol

I can do 4 hours of driving without any stop, I have a bad back, so pulling over is a relief. Now back to the mugs/tumblers or anything else that may improve the function in our TLs...

I also have the stone (small) coasters and it does raise the cups up a little, plus adds something new to the look of the interior (when cups are not present). You can actually buy them in all kinds of designs, such as your favortive football team.

Here's a few examples:

not bad....mine is approx 425 miles non stop. With traffic and the truck I was towing down it took me right around 9 hours. Ran inside to piss, dropped the truck then ate a ten minute lunch. Hopped back in the truck and 425 miles non stop home...7 hours on the return.

All of which drives me insane when I have to take a family trip....Im lucky if I can go 2 hours without a stop

I probably could have gone further than 380 miles had it not been for the fact that the Varsity was at that exit, I knew it was there, and I hadn't been there in quite some time. Varsity onion rings.....best thing about Atlanta by far!

Yes please share!!

Whatever you do, do not get one with a plastic interior. They stink up really fast, and you're leeching out BPA when you put hot liquids in it (unless it's marked BPA free)

Also, a little off topic but: Vitamin Water? I didn't think people actually drank that crap.. I saw some show recently where they showed that your body doesn't absorb almost any of the vitamins. You end up Whizzing most of it away. Might as well drink some kool-aid and chew on a Flinstone

So I was looking around for cups and I believe this cup to be extremely badass

Also, looking at the website I saw this cell phone holder thing.

It's ashame the diameter is not a little bigger (I guess we would need around 3in?) I think these would be great little car coasters. Even better, if they had the Acura or Type-S symbol. You could always go to a sign store and have them make one up for you and just stick it on a blank coaster.Hehe, Am I giving anyone ideas?

^ thanks, that's a cool mug... But I'm not liking the lid, I had one of those, you must aim you mouth carefully to drink from it, otherwise your brand new work shirt will be marked, lol. But I do like the design, definitely matches the TL-S interior.

Got it at bed bath and beyond - works great, and no spills to date

Following up. Took some pictures this morning. The car was parked in the garage at the time, so the lighting isn't perfect, but I think this gives the idea.

I use this travel mug that I got for free when I ordered coffee. Seen here on the kitchen table. It's pretty much like any other.

I line the cupholder with the coaster-type things I described earlier. Here is one held up against the steering wheel to give a sense of the size.

In this picture I put the coaster on top of the vents to give a sense of thickness.

They fit rather nicely in the cupholders, and the small indentation makes them easier to remove.

Finally, this one shows the travel mug in the cupholder. You can see what I meant about how it's low enough not to interfere with shifting.
