Best Dino oil

Guys what is the best 5w 20 dino oil to use in a TL-S, I want to know what the majority of you are using. I'm planing on changing the oil every 4k to 5k miles so synthetic is out of the question. So help me out guys, what would be one of the best oils out there. Remember no synthetics. THANKS

I think the answer you get is going to be based on personal preferences more than anything. I'm sure you can't go wrong with any of the name brands.

I've used synth since I was 16, so I have no preferences on dino oil. I used to use Castrol, then I switched to Mobil One for a long time, and recently picked up a sweet sale deal on Pennzoil (buy one get one free).

Also will the oil filters for the 07 TL fit the 07 TL-S

You're not going to follow the MID? That interval is close to what the MID ends up with.
Any name brand stuff will probably work. There are some urban legends about not switching brands around too much.
I have the dealer do it; it's more $, but they rotate the tires, and (I hope) they'd be more inclined to see it my way when/if warranty questions come around.

I probably will go by the MID and no I will not switch brands for as long as i own the car, I am just trying to find out what is one of the top rated oils.

THANKS

I personally use Mobil 1 "full" Synthetic...but I have read/seen posts where a good number of people chose Havoline since its formulation is nearly identical to Acura's factory fill. Maybe give that a try.....?

Almost every really good foreign (ie Japanese) car mechanic I have ever dealt with recommended Castrol. Personally, I use the Syntec Blend and buy in bulk from Wally World so it's not too $$, but if I were going straight dino I'd still use Castrol.

And I always do my own as I've heard one too many horror stories of crossthreaded/stripped drain plugs and overfills. At least if I screw it up, it's my own damn fault.

I used to use the Synblend but have switched over to the Syntec since the cost difference is so small.

I agree on the Castrol, I've been wrenching cars and motorcycles for over 30 years and have always recommended and used Castrol motor oil. There is other good dino oil out there but I've seen how little if any wear is on Honda/Acura motors using Castrol GTX/Synblend/Syntec at 250K+ miles.

I've also heard good results with Shell Rotella on cars and motorcycles with gasonline motors.

Havoline one of the best bang for the buck oils on the market. I have been using it ever since I saw some UOA's on it. I have not had a problem with it yet and didn't burn a drop when I ran it in the TL. Now I use it in my new car. Hey and it's inexpensive at Wal-Mart

Don't the stealerships use Vavoline? That's what I use, based on that assumption.

The dealer as well as most private shops use whatever the local distributor
will give them the cheapest price on. They buy in bulk-100s of gallons at a time

Castrol GTX is good reg oil
Mobil 1 NO LONGER fully synthetic!!
You must buy their mobil1 High Mileage to get Fully syn now
I use the Penzoil Platinum Fully Synthetic- with adaptive molecules!
And of course I love my K&N oil filter
