So you're saying the ZKW is my only option?

No. You'd have to look around or as theretrofitsource.com for some advice. The ZKW and ZKWr are the only ones I've seen used in a TL. What other options are you looking for?

I'm planning to run with the Philips 85122+ D2S. What lens do you think will give me that purple tint look but bright as well?

Don't know where he got these, but here is a review. I wouldn't recommend the purple as they don't project as well as the clear.

If you want a purple HID bulb, there are some 6000k ones out there with a slight purple color.

lenses don't give you color. Get some ZKWr lenses, and 8000 or 12000k HID bulbs for purple look. But that's gonna look like shit and give you a bad light output. 6000k is white light with a hint of blue and looks the best IMO.

I wouldn't say lenses don't give you color. A byproduct of the projector lens does give you color due to its prism effect. What most people see on the road is color from a projector, not the color output of the bulb. Bulbs that have a higher Kelvin color temp will reduce light output, and project a blueish color.

I run stock bulbs and throw purple everywhere from my cut off. The light on the ground is usable white light. Look at all the purple/blue along this cut off pic below. Get the philips bulbs!

Lenses give you all kinds of color, just get the ZKWr from the retrofitsourse its the best option there is. Also regarding color not only does the lens give you more color but due to the sharpness of the lens it give you the flicker effects you might have seen it before driving toward a car with HIDs that hits a bump or something you see the purple/blue in the lens.

I say get the non premium everything I have bought from the retrofitsourse that was "used" was always in great shape. You will never see the scratches and it wont effect anything.

So you bought the non-premium lens for $25 without any scratches on them? Wouldn't just based on luck?? I would really like to get it for a cheap price. Will the non-premium still have qualities?

No there they didn't have two options when I got mine but email Matt and just ask him what the difference is he's a really nice guy. I heard its the exact same lens just might be minor scuffs on the cheaper one

I just bought the bargain or "non-premium" ZKW-R lenses from them. I cant tell where/why/how they aren't premium. I see no defects at all!

Just get the bargain lenses. Its not like you are going to wear them like glasses and constantly see any imperfections. What little imperfections you might find, you will never see when you are driving at night. (and no one will get face to face with your headlights and say "I see a defect in your lenses!")

Does it still give you good quality as the premium one? Also do you have any pic of them on your car?

the only diff between the bargain ones and the premium ones is that the bargain ones might have a slight imperfection on them. they are exactly the same as the premium ones, save that one little possibility.

I dont have them on my car yet, so no pictures. search around in the forums and you will find pics of them. :-)

Follow this link for pics. It's not a DIY, but it will give you an idea of what it looks like: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-photograph-gallery-96/my-zkwr-install-772638/

I bought a set of the "value" lenses for my wife's car. I'll let you guys know next week their condition when they arrive.
