Bent Tl-s Rims warranty?
Hey guys I took my car in for B1 service in which I let them know my car was shaking at highway speeds.....when the service guy called me and told me this I let him know that I have the rim/tire warranty....he told me that the warranty company will come by and take a look at it.....When everything was finished he told me that the warranty company would not cover the bent rims because the tires werent damaged. Does this sound legit, and has anyone had stock rims replaced using the warranty?

whats the fine print say in the contract. Did you take a pothole hit or what?
You may have to fight for your rights- but first you have to know them

all work and no play
in the sales pitch for the wheel tire warrenty they said "if you bend the wheel you're covered.....if you blow the tire in the process that is replaced too" It sounds like bullshit to me....if so I guess its time for you to find some big pot holes LOL

The dealership files a claim with the Warranty Co. and the Warranty Co. either pays it or denies it. Most of this comes down to "creative writing" on the service departments part. If they phrase it correctly, the warranty co willl cover it.
In the end, it's easier for them to bill you for it. If you don't get anywhere with them, talk to the person in the dealership who actually sold you the warranty, you may get better results.

Go to the sales dept and demand a full refund... Let them hassle with service about the claim. Also don't forget to request them to refund the policy price + interest rate you are paying on the wheel policy.

Full of water...
thats crap, they should replace it. i have the warranty, but have never used it. i got a little curb scrape on one of my rims and told them that i hit a pothole and then hit the curb. they would have replaced it if the rim was bent, but it was only scratched so it was a no go. but i am pretty sure that they would have replaced it even if the tire was fine.
my step dad also has this warranty and has used it twice, with no issues. not sure if it was just the rim, or both rim and tire, but it was a no hassle replacement. i would either demand a refund or a new rim.

I spoke with the fidelity warranty company and guess what " they will not replace them". If you read the contract the warranty is a tire coverage warranty and the only way to replace the rim is if the tire was damaged in the process of road hazard. I would go and look for potholes to hit to damage the tires but I dont want to damage my suspension or anything else....I guess I just have to complain to acura and see if they will even give me a discount on the wheels for the misguided sales pitch!

One month after I got my car I hit a pot hole, not even deep one but it bent my front rim...they fixed it and covered it under the tire warranty that I had. I think you should be covered. Hope this helps....

I'm saying if I have to replace tires once or twice a year for road hazzards, then the warranty would be worth it because it's not that expensive, and yeah teh roads in my opinion are terrible, I live in yonkers which isnt too bad, but the city sux.

After a year the original tires were shot and I had to buy 4 new ones. Tire warrenty from tirerack or local shop is like $15 a tire or less.
Not sure what the Type-S or other non base Acura rims go for but, for me the base rims and tires the warrenty was a grand waste of money. I did good on the price of the car but, got screwed with this warrenty.
I will look and see if I still have my warrenty paper work and see how it is worded. I might have tossed it since I am 2 sets of tires past it working on another set this spring probably.
Other then Mavis anywhere around Westchester or Rockland to get tires installed at a decent price? I have used Mavis in the past but, well looking around.

I didn't bother reading the posts after the OP's but I will share my experience. I had an incident where my TL wheel was damaged and replaced for free and they even replaced the tire as well.
The wheel was damaged via the car was unable to slow down to execute the corner so instead it slid into a curb which was about 5 inches high at roughly 20mph, the wheel looked awful. The dealer was able to change the wheel and the warranty company said they'll change the wheel since they figured if the wheel was damaged then the tire must be damaged as well.

They told me that only the rims were damaged and not the tires so therefore they wouldnt replace them........both have to be damaged in order for them to replace the rims.

wheres the contract ??? read it, if it states it there then ok.....if not they better get their asses in motion, forget what they say thats BS.... I would call corporate on that BS and have them call babydick whos refusing to do the work.

Never buy those wheel warranties as they almost never warranty. The rim is extremely unlikely to fail on it's own; and if it does, good luck proving it. Rims are damaged by pot holes, curbs, and other accidents that won't be covered. Take it as a lesson learned.

road rash isnt covered but potholes n other stuff is, thats what the warranty covers. but i wouldnt buy anything or agree to it unless i read it and understood where it benefits me
