Beep

Is there anyway to make the beep sound when you press lock for the first time instead of the second time? Also for unlocking the car?

Nope. I agree that it would make more sense to get the beep on the first press. It doesn't matter that much because the volume is so low I can rarely hear it anyway.

I enjoy the low volume when I am close to the car but miss a louder one when I can't remember if I locked the car from a distance (if it is too bright to see flashing lights).

It would be nice if there were some way to make the parking lights blink when the alarm is set. I usually hit the door lock button on my way out and like the "flash, flash, I'm Armed!" confirmation my old car (Chevy) used to give me. Doesn't seem like it would cost more than a few dollars when building the car.

This weekend I did a mod to relocate the piezo buzer in the open at the front near the battery because the beeper sound in its original location is hard to hear 30 feet away from the car. I have a CLs'01 with the same buzer and the beep is not mufflered like on the TL'04. Originally the Keyless entry piezo buzer was located on the driver side wheel well where it was covered by too much stuff.

Cal - This is very interesting, thanks for the post. Can you describe in more detail what has to be done? Is this something a person inexperienced with car repair can handle or should avoid?

I would love to make the beep the same volume as my '01 CL was. I really strain to hear the TL beep right now. But I'm not a "car person" - changing a flat is about my level of expertise.

it would be nice to have the car beep when it unlocks, sometimes when it is really sunny outside i can't see the lights blink.
