Noob question here, why are you guys changing out your HID's? Just for the color? Or is there a light output improvement? Mine are stock but i would like them to be a bright white instead of the bluish they are right now how can i go about that? I see that the visibility of the HID's you guys have are better than stock... Well LOOKS like it from pics.

It's very hard to justify spending that kind of money on the CBIs or SVSs for a small difference in lumens
And I agree. 5k or bust IMO! When everyone's lights were yellow, blue looked luxurious. Now ultra white is the bees knees.

Yes, stock is 4200K, if they're well burnt in they might be a little closer to 5000k but not quite. Morimoto 5000K's are okay and a bargain but will not improve output. Osram CBI's will be pure white and improve lighting but cost $180 (a bargain for OEM quality). Like their facebook page, they post up deals every few weeks, I paid $150 for my CBIs.

^Stocks lose color and they age, not gain. Right?
I thought stocks after a few years are more like 4000/3900?!?

They get whiter after break in, but then dim when they're dying out. I've seen older TL's with pink headlights, Osrams do that when they're on the way out. I think they need to be really old before they lose any color.
