BBK For Base TL

Wondering what's the best BBK out there for TL? Anyone run ECB yellow stuff?
Do any newer Hondas/Acura have same caliper bolt pattern? I was going to see how well a Honda pilot front caliper sized up to the TL.

Get the calipers and front arms off a manual 04 TL or a 2007-2008 TL Type S.

EBc yellow is very good. But it has lots of brake dust and not long enough wear life.

I love them and am probably going to try the Blue NDX EBC pads on the TL-S once it's done. The yellows do make noise and aren't the best when its cold outside. I'd say the red's are a great compromise between extra stopping power and much less dust than the ebc yellows. I run the EBC red on my 3G TL on all 4 corners and yellow on the MDX and 4G TL. TL-S has factory brembo pads at the moment.

Yellow gives full stopping power and great bite, but is very hard to modulate to make "smooth". Red is much better in that respect with being much more progressive like an OE pad, but with better friction compounds.

Yes, the Red EBC are a good balance!

What do you think of the Brembo pads? How do they compare?

I currently run reds on the front, I can get brake fade driving enthusiastically through a canyon road, not even sending it that hard. The reds create a good amount of dust imo, so hesitant to get the yellow since they will only be worse.
I've seen older posts on this site about BBK but seems nobody makes them anymore.

Wilwood makes BBK. There are currently a couple members testing prototype BBKs on here as well.

Do you have a link to the exact one they offer? I feel it's over 1k I might as well just find other compatible rotors and calipers for cheaper no?

It is more than 1k. Some on here found that genesis calipers fit our TL well. There is a guy who can make you the caliper brackets.

Yes, TLs are my passion(obsession).

Brembo's don't have the same bite but they are much easier to modulate and can resist fade more than the Automatic brake setup.

Make sure you are using good pads and fluid. Did you upgrade the rears? Not doing the rears makes the front work harder (shifts brake balance forward) and can make them overheat more. The dust and noise on yellows is way worse than red so I wouldn't advise it. You can try out Carbotech pads or the ET500

Heres the thread I made about using Hyundai Genesis Coupe 4 pot calipers on Base TL knuckles.

No I had stock on the rears and that was something I overlooked, I totally get what you mean though.
