Battery replace needed??
Battery replace needed??
I have an 2005 TL. I've started to notice lately my car has a hard time starting. It sounds like there is not enough juice left in the battery to power up the car but after the 2-3rd try it works. I also notice the memory in the seat is not keeping the position. My question is will acura replace my battery for me since im still under warranty, i even bought the extened warranty up to 100k. If they dont cover me then what brand should i buy?
thanks
thanks
Hey, they should definitely cover you.
Before you rush to a conclusion, take multimeter, and test your battery in the morning, and let us know the reading. Ideally it should be at 14V, but from 12V to 14V is fine.
I ran Optima Yellow Top on my last TL, so this is your best bet.

wow ok ill have to bring it in to them. I need to go there anyways because my temp gauge goes flat line now. i need them to take a look at it. I hope everything is covered cuz i did buy the extented warranty.

14v huh? thats interesting, how many cells does your battery had, last time i checked a fully charged battery is 12.6 dc volts.
battery charging voltage with a load on, high idle should be 13.2 - 14.8
voltage can be fine, but the available amperage can cause the slow crank.
amperage is where its at, voltage is just pressure.
acura batteries typically last about 30 months (3 batteries in 3 different cars). If you get a baterry from NTB, be sure to get a battery rated for the car. Sure it is always good to get something rated higher, but some places will sell you a 4yr battery and some try to get you to buy the 7 yr battery. How you want to spend your money is up to you! In some cases the battery isn't any better you are just paying extra for the warranty!

Read more carefully, Optimum Yellow Top Battery, race performance battery, inclined for high amp draw, in other words: deep cycle.
I love smart asses with high school physics background.
you were giving false information..
how many people have stock rated cca batteries in their acura's? alot.
they are going to read your post, get out a multimeter, and be like oh? wow its 12.xx volts. i guess its bad. time to get a new one..
you did not state you were "testing" a deep cycle battery.
you said you have one.
sorry for the miscommunication.
