Battery Drainage/Remote Start/Alternator
Battery Drainage/Remote Start/Alternator
So recently my car has been squeaking when I turn on and eventually goes away. Belts and pulleys have been replaced and noise stayed. It came down to the conclusion that my remote start alarm has been draining the battery and making the alternator to work harder which is causing the squeak.
I feel like I should say I also have a sound system but noise started after remote start was installed. Also, after some research I heard about the Hands Free Link and just took that off yesterday hoping that helps with the battery drainage.
I can change the alternator but I was told that the noise and stress on the alternator will continue if the battery continues to drain. I was told I should find the exact issue before. Any advice or ideas on where to start and how to find the exact issue? I’m not big on the electrical side of things so I’m not sure where to start
