Battery for a 2007 TL 3.2
Hey all, I have an 07 TL 3.2 with 92k miles on it and there's been a recent issue happening when I start my car. The dash lights flicker and the car struggles to start. Once started the car runs fine. I don't drive everyday and there was some corrosion on the battery which I thoroughly removed after having my car jumped, yet it stills continues to happen.
I hear it's the battery as it's 2-3 years old. Could anyone recommend a good battery to use as a replacement for under $150? I am considering the Acura dealership, AutoZone, Pepboys, or Napa, but all carry different brands.
Any recommendations would be helpful. Thanks!

Thanks asma123, but I bought the car used 3 years ago not from an acura dealership and there's a costco battery in there now which was probably put in by the dealership. Don't think acura will replace for free. I wanted to get a better battery other than what acura supplies, just not sure if I should go with duralast, optima, napa, etc...

any battery would work but I would recommend the acura dealership one I believe the warranty on that is longer than the regular aftermarket batteries that are sold u pay a little more but at least you have the warranty option there

Actually, my bluetooth is not working and does say booting up when I try to connect. I don't leave it on booting up, however could this be the reason why my battery is draining?

I purchased the OEM battery for my TL and my wifes Accord. The part number is identical between Honda's battery and the one at Acura so it makes no difference. I paid like $89 bucks from my local Honda dealership.

So, I think the issue is not with the battery, but the bluetooth. The bluetooth is not working and draining the batter.
I just called Acura and the bluetooth part is $237.40 + $60+ installation.
Any alternatives to getting this fixed for less?

Ide rather run with no bluetooth than pay that.

I hear the Interstate Mega-Tron series are really good. I had an Optima Red Top battery in my last TL and their quality has gone down as I had to get mine replaced only after 3 years (warranty replacement).

They actually had a recall a few years back regarding this same bluetooth issue. Not sure if that letter went to you or the previous owner, but this should be taken care by Acura free of charge. I also have a 2007 TL 3.2 myself. It doesn't hurt asking or pushing the dealership to grant you this recall.

acura battery new from dealer is like 80 bucks...and your not running sounds so you really dont need an Optima battery...i would just go auto Autozone and get the Duralast Gold Battery the crank is better the OEM and its a good price.
and if you think its the bluetooth module..you can check the fuse panel and pull the fuse out..or just find the module itself and unplug it.

I have a Diehard gold, 725cca. Its a 24F. Cost $110. I bought it in Jan2012 and its been fantastic. I had an optima yellow top in my truck. It was a decent batt but certainly nothing to write home about and I don't understand why people rant and rave about them. Also id never spend my money on a Honda OEM battery, there are better replacements out there for the same price.

Here you go. I removed mine within 10 minutes. Luckily I noticed my bluetooth wasn't functioning and was saying "booting up" only for a few days until I did some research here on acurazine and realized that when it says "booting up" it means that it will drain your battery even when the car is turned off.
I just wanted to add some information you can find when searching for related threads.
About 3 weeks ago my HFL started working when it felt like it, usually every other start for about half the trip. When it was working the Diagnostic Mode showed no errors. When it wasn't working it would display the notorious "booting up."
I tried disconnecting my battery, clearing all phones from the module and repairing and the same happened when pairing another phone.
With all the HFL rants around here that I've read I just decided it was a safe move to replace the module.
I ran across a good, used one and installed it yesterday....now that it's functioning perfectly again if it should go out in the future I will just buy a brand new one.
There was a few differences between what came out and what went in which I'll show in the pictures.
Honestly, this is probably one of the easiest repairs.
Here's the tools you need, more specifically an 8 and 10mm socket, butter knife, 1/4 in. drive ratchet or similar.
Getting the overhead console out is extremely simple.
- Take your butter knife and gently pry on the rearward facing area of the sunroof switch and it will pop right out. Undo the connector.
- Where you had the knife to pry is where you need to pull straight down, one simple clip.
- From there remove 4, 8mm bolts, undo the connector and there you are.
Here's what you're left with....
I replaced the module only so in my case I had to remove the black cover and replace the circuitry. That is held in with 3 very small torx screws.
The replacement used module was pretty different but it works so I guess we'll leave it be.
Old one is on the left dated 2006, new one is dated 2004.
Note that the old one has some type of marker indication on the green connector....almost like it was marked bad or something before?

Thanks! I did this last night and it was super easy. After driving around a little last night to charge the battery, I parked the car and going to start it later tonight. Thanks for the help. Found videos on YouTube as well
