Backup camera with no night mode?

My 2007 TL-S backup camera doesn't have night mode. Is this normal?

It's so hard to see at night, especially when it's raining.

Normal. Acura’s screens and back up cameras are/have been some of the worst on the market. My 2016 MDX is marginally better than my 07 TLS

The simple solution to this is to purchase a good set of LED for rear plate and back up light.

Yeah, I agree it’s not great. I turn off my lights when backing into the garage to get the screen back in bright mode.

One thing you can try is pressing the 'zoom' button upwards on the navi, I believe this raises the brightness of the screen when the back up cam comes on. I may be wrong though.

Turned up screen brightness + bright LEDs did help. Thanks!

This actually works!! Thank you for this tip!

My MRP 5AT has factory license plate & B/U bulbs and seemed not-as-bright as the two that have LEDs. I assumed that is what made the difference at night with the back up cam being "less lit up."
So I had to run out in the cold and dark and try your tip---and it DID get brighter! YAY!

May have to try this!

Makes me wonder if anyone replaced the stock OEM camera with a new HD camera...
