Anyone here have experience with the backup camera going dark, even intermittently? Did a search but not much out there at all. Thanks in advance.

 

Nope - fails to boot, occasionally. Re-select reverse...

The screen is very dark at first in cold weather, like an old CRT TV warming up. But they all do that, sir and a new screen isn't economic.

Is your being more random then that? Might possibly be the reversing spotlights being spotty.
