B1 service done and done :)
My B1 just came on a few days ago. Got 12800 on the odo. It's basically an oil change and tire rotation. I'll do it myself. Should cost me about $40. Not to mention the enjoyment of the work. Glad your taking care of your ride. Did they change the pollen filter?
I will be changing my break pads myself though. These stockies squeak like a school bus stopping :/. I still have 5mm left on the front and 8 on the back. Oh well.
yeah they changed all the filters. rotated tires, oil, etc. I'm not very car skilled and didn't mind paying that.

^ Yeah hahaha crazy.
They probably didn't even use synthetic motor oil.
I just had the B pop up... took it in for an oil change (brought my own RP oil and K&N filter). Charged me $15 + a free hand car wash. I get my tire rotations done for free at Firestone since I have the lifetime alignment package.

yea, well, My dealership has a really top notch service department and I'd like to make sure they stay that way. My brother is a ass. service manager so I dont mind putting money into his pocket
If you are not very car skilled, I say, stay away from the brakes. It is not a tough job, but familiarity goes a long way.
Ooops.

I thought the OP said "B1".
Although more than DIY/generally over-priced, pokin is right, $160 is not bad for dealer service to change the pollen filter and air filter as well as the Oil, Oil Filter and Tire Rotation.
sry

Yeah sorry, my brother is an assistant service manager for another dealer. The car industry is taking a killing right now so i figured I'd help out my local and great dealership. I bought the car in Aug. of this year so this was my first real service.
It's not all bad to let the dealer handle it maint for you. All depends on how much your own time is worth and if you really feel like messing with it. Most of my previous cars NEVER went to the dealership unless it was a warranty claim. As I get older I tend to get more and more lazy and have less free time to mess with my car so I let the dealer or another shop handle a lot of my maint now. Also my local dealership gives you a loaner for just about anything so I have no down time at all. I roll up first thing in the morning, drop the car off, pick up the loaner, go to work, then pick my car back up at the end of the day.
Man you're a good samaritan. Geez $180 though? And if you're going to do the brakes yourself I wouldnt call yourself mechanically challenged, I would say you know more than many people.
