avoided warranty ?
i've purchased an aspec kit 3 months ago. Recently I've realized that the side of bumper is popping off. I took it to the dealer and they said all my bumper's warranty r gone because i did not get the dealer to install the kit. IS my warrenty really avoided??

If the work you had done elsewhere caused the bumper to have a problem- then they dont have to cover you
If the 2 are unrelated- they are giving you BS
Its like CAI does not cause trans failure!
Why dont you take it back to the kit installer and have then fix it?

First of all, it's "voided". Not "avoided". You can avoid an accident but you can only VOID a warranty claim. Also, you spell it "are" rather than r. And why should a dealer warranty something you bought and put on yourself? In fact, the bumper/molding you are mentioning probably isn't even defective but rather is probably simply installed incorrectly so, yes, they are in their right to refuse you service for an error you did while installing the kit. But have faith, it doesn't really sound like that big of a deal and is also probably something you can easily remedy yourself. Good luck with that
BTW - Here's your sign....

it was installed by a local shop. i went back to them and they told me that the side clips AREn't clipping to the actual bumper. i did a search, some of our members have the same problem and they got it fixed at the dealer.

Haha the whole avoided warranty thing is pretty funny.
I was looking at the title all day, but didnt feel like checking out the thread.
I was like it is A-voided warranty or did they avoid the warranty and get it fixed anyway?!
And maybe you need some 3M double sided tape so it will attach to your bumper?

You took your aspec kit to some crappy local shop who dicked up the install, and you want your dealer to fix it for free? They shouldn't have to clean up some one else's botched install for free just so that you could save a few bucks. Either force the local shop to fix the install and do it right, or pay Acura to clean up the mess you got yourself into.

I did not know that the Acurazine board was an English class. I also thought the board was here to help out members with issues and ideas for their Acura cars. This thread seems to be a bit harsh on the original poster. A lot of us are new to Acurazine and should be given a little slack on our questions.

dayummm u guys are harsh lol.
vc123456789123124215615642 - look in the 3G garage for the a-spec body kit installation instructions. even if the shop did mess up the install it is pretty easy to fix it yourself with some basic tools and some 3m tape. if u need any sort of tools or 3m tape u should be able to find it at a local pepboys, kragen, autozone etc. half of the a-spec bodykits u see on cars on this forum are diy installed.
