I hate when 04-06 TLs try to perpetrate. Who drives around with their lights on at 2 o'clock in the afternoon on a sunny day? Is having DTRL some kind of status symbol?

Wow... reviving an old thread to get a valid answer and all you get is twice as many opinions - probably not such a good idea. Lesson learned. Maybe I'll save the hassle and just get the parts & try and work it out myself and then post it for anyone else who is interested.

my thinking exactly i have 2 cars

Ford Taurus

and the TL

IMO if a damn taurus has auto lights dontcha think the car that cost almost twice the taurus' amount should have auto lights also

my moms e350 has auto leveling HIDs with auto on off and i have to say it makes me a lil jealous when i get in her car and they just pop on

i think it would be a mod worth doing to the tl

I actually love how you can just leave the lights on when you get out and if you lock the doors using the keyfob twice the lights will turn off. And then when you unlock the doors the lights turn on. It lights your path and looks so cool.

it's kind of lame not having the feature, but i like having greater control over my headlights...i'd hate it to have it turn on under a highway overpass just to turn off when i drive out of it. Bad for the HIDs.
