Thumbs down Atlanta Tint Recommendation - RETRACTION.

G'day y'all.

Enjoying babying up my 98 Accord now that the TL is gone, and I went to get the tinting redone darker on it. So I took it back to Jazzy tint where I had gotten my previous TL's done.

It is because of the terrible experience 2 weeks ago that I must remove my recommendation that I had made in the past to other atlanta residents to use them. Their performance was so far beyond acceptable, I am going back this saturday to have the tint removed and a full refund. They will not get the re-tint work.

First, it was 2 hour late, 8pm versus 6pm, and I had missed dinner sitting around waiting for their call.

Second, they used the wrong tint. They put on 28 from one brand and I wanted 20 from another, why would I pay $260 to go from 32 to 28 ?? I wanted DARK.

Third, they did the front windshield. No way in HELL did I ask for that. And now after having it, no way in hell WOULD I ever ask for it.. the optical quality gave me a friggin headache.

Fourth, after being this late, and then getting angry at me when I showed up and bitched that they put the wrong tint, they put the car back together and didn't put my stuff back in the door panels, which I didn't notice till I was halfway to Orlando. I called them and they have it in a box for me.

Fifth, their reassembly of the car interior panels was poor. my right side rear seat panel is about an inch from the window, just not pushed in, and I tried to push it in thinking the tab didn't click.. but it's not assembled correctly. And they must have removed the rear speaker covers because they were not put back correctly also.

Sixth, the bubbles and creases I brought to their attention, went unfixed after the brutha walked back and told me they were all fixed.

So, I must advise any Atlanta tinters, AVOID JAZZY TINT in Riverdale/Fayetteville.

Thanks for the head's up. I was going to use SolarWorks per the recommendation on here. Also, why are you going with darker tint? The tinting laws in Georgia have changed . . . again.

No more than 32%. Here's an article for it.

definitely go to Solarworks, I've had two cars done there and they do a nice job. I think the owner said he has been doing tint for 20 years? Anyway he seems like a good guy and does good work.

where is Solar works ?? my tint comes off this saturday and i will be wanting to get it redone as soon as possible.

Yeah and the shop that's doing all my car work said down in jonesboro they are stopping people left and right for tint since June 1st. My 28 that I just got put on tests at 24 (the shop has a meter), and the law as I read says 32% +/- 3%, so a 28 could be negotiable. I will probably still go 20% with 20% mirror and push my luck. I had it on my TL and it was very pleasant, no visibility problems and kept it very cool.

I just called and got a quote for $349. This is for ceramic (I have Navi) Formula One Film, felt linings (I believe this is what everyone calls moleskin) and 35% darkness.

Is this what you have and at that price? I was hoping to be more in the $200 range?!

That's the same price I had paid for mine. Joe was the one that had done the installation for me.

I still gotta take pics when we finally get some sunshine.

Everything else the same (moleskin/felt, 35%, FormulaOne)?

Yes, everything else the same. Regarding the moleskin, he just put some kind of felt where the windows go up/down so that it wouldn't trap the dirt that'll end up scratching your tint.

Thanks!! How long..a couple of hours start to finish? Do they take off the door panals? Any rattles after the fact (that scares me the most)?

Is 35% dark enough? I know law says that is it, but my understanding was that you could go darker...like 25% and still be o.k.

It took about 2 hours from start to finish. And yes, he took off all of my door panels so that he could apply the felt and tint. And no rattles whatsoever . . . except when my bass is pumping.

I don't think 35% is dark enough because I can still see through the windows if I were standing outside. Their tint choices are 50, 35, and 20 for the Comfort Series. I didn't want to push my luck with our revised law so I chose 35.

Here is the other tint choices that you could go with called the Ultimate Series.

$349?!?!? Way too steep for me. I was thinking of going to Envision, Pro Mace or Sound Sensation to get mine done.
