Aspec Type-S/base front install

Ordered my 08 TL-S rear/sides and base front. after many hours of research and staring at pictures I opted out of the aspec type s front bc it's bulky n to much goin on for me im a simple person so 08 base front lip works perfectly !

Big ups to jptl04 for originality and a trend setter! Ur car is the sheet! Now jus need to find a shop to make adjustments n make fit!!! That's gonna be a pain!

And I know I'm late on this mod but I'm new to the game

I've read many thread and got many different opinions. Some say you need to mod the lip to get it to fit the type-s. Other say it can go right over the bumper without mods, just that it will be a tight fit.

Either way, i'm in the same boat as you. I want the type-s kit but I want the base lip. Let me know how it goes.

I really hope it will just fit over the bumper without any modification. Keep me updated please?

Geezr/Stevie-I feel the exact same way you guys feel. No Aspec Type S Kit for me either. If I could find on my Jaime's (jpTL04), I would get that. The Type S Aspec Kit reminds me of a Japanese Bubble Eye goldfish.....

Stevie, I've already tried a Base TL Aspec Kit on the front of the Type S-it won't fit without some modifications.

It all has to do with the shape of the fog light housing. Base TL housing has a rounded slope going up and out(like a lower case u), while TL Type-S housing has a rounded slope going down and out(like an lower case n).

I was originally going to have my buddy's shop fit the base bumper on my Type-S, but Curry Acura sent my the Type-S under spoiler accidentally (I ordered the base). When I test fitted the one they sent me, I fell in love with it...

Yea I'll keep y'all posted on how this turns out! I originally ordered full aspec kit then changed mind n called curry n made the switch b4 it was shipped out.
I jus hope it turns out half as good as jptl04's lol I'll have pics ASAP who knows how long it will take shop to custom fit. Crossing fingers turns out clean!!!!!!
I'd prolly be same way if they some how sent me type-s front lol only bc I'm to lazy to return and doubt ne one round my area would buy.

I agree the front TL Type S aspec kit looks ridiculous. Doesnt flow with anything on the car and looks completely slapped on like it was made for a different car. The only time it looks somewhat ok is when I see it on a white or silver Type S. Otherwise I would MUCH MUCH rather have the base kit on my car as well.

Please keep us up to date on what needs to be done because I really like the aspec kit for the 07/08 base bumper. Looks very nice!!
