Guys I have been on AZ for a few months and have been trying to follow everything. One thing I am having trouble with is what is ASPEC? It looks to me that it is a custom bumper for both the front and back of 3G TL's. Can someone post some pictures of ASPEC vs regular? Also, was it a dealer only option or could it be ordered direct from Acura. It would help me out a lot if I saw the difference. Thanks.

I think aspec stands for acura spec, basically its cosmetics for your 3g, consist of lip kit, brakes, steering wheel, springs, wheels, and there are more but those just pop in my head for now. I'm sure others will chime in with the rest. Many of the parts can be bought at the dealership but will be super expensive. There a few vendors here that sells many of the things for alot less!!

 

Think of it as a special edition, or sport edition apart from the ordinary TL.

I don't think I can narrow it down more than that.

The TLs Aspec is a little more agressive than the base, there are tons of pictures on this site just do a search

 

Interior: seats and door panels have 2 tone leather. Type S emblem on steering wheel. Type s on headrests. Red led's on the dash.

Exterior: front bumper is slightly different same as the rear. Tinted side markers dark headlight housing and trunk lip spoiler. Dual exhaust.

Engine: 26 more hp? Brembo brakes in front and .5" lower suspension. Type s wheels.


Might be missing more other will add/correct.

Exactly, looking for difference between the kits. I know the difference between the TL and Type S. I picked up a Type S a few months ago. More power (3.2 vs 3.5) - 258hp vs 286hp, all have Nav, 6sp MT (not available on 07-08 regular TL's), brembo brakes, type s logo on seats, etc.

It all truly depends on the model year. Type-S came out in 07. 04-06 A-spec was truly a bodykit that fabs onto the front and rear with replacement sideskirts, A-spec suspension, 18" A-spec wheels,(manual transmission) brembo front brakes.

please be more descriptive as to what year...

 

A-spec also had upgraded brake pads on 5AT.

 

Originally A-spec was sold as a huge conversion kit for the 04 TL.

- Under Spoiler set
- 18x8.5 Enkie Rims (gunmetal)
- 235/40VR18 Yokohama AVS ES100
- Lowering springs
- Stiffer valved shocks
- Thicker blue-stitch steering wheel
- Shiny A-Spec badge for the trunk
- Special Brake pads (Automatics only)

I think after that everything was sold separately, but some items were discontinued. I know the original MT suspension, badge & steering wheel are no longer available. In 05 the rims were switched to 18x8 and no longer offered in Gunmetal. Just some random chrome-ish colors and silver. Currently several pieces of less popular colors in the under-spoiler set are sold out too. As for the suspension, you can still get the 07+ sport suspension (shocks/springs) for the MT & AT.
