Armrest - interesting

Anyone else notice that the armrest is not centered between the 2 fron seats? It is closer to the passenger side seat. therefore, when you open the storage compartment the lid rubs the side of the passenger's seat. I thought it was only mine but went to the dealer and all cars on the lot had the same "design feature".

I actually like it this way. Sometimes I need to keep the storage area open while I am driving e.g. I'm getting something out or putting something in. In my 03 TL the arm rest would slam shut while driving ... especially when I had to stop.

I have not noticed that on my TL.

I'm guessing it's ergonomically sound as it'll be easier for the driver to reach with his right arm. Same reason why the emergency brake is located closer to the passenger seat, methinks.

I noticed this almost immediately. As long as it doesn't wear down the leather, it's fine with me.
