Anyone else have this problem?
The armrest where you can store stuff, the top keeps popping up over rough roads,etc.

Seems to have happen much more often when it is warm outside...

Really aggravating having it pop up when you are driving (without your arm on it of course).

I think the plastic latch is pretty flimsy and then works it's way out....

 

sounds defective, mine never opened by itself before. Do you have your console overstuffed with things, pushing against the lever or top, causing it to want to pop open? dealer should fix it im sure its under warrantee. if thats the only problem you got you should be happy. do you like your EL42s?

 

What is old, is new again. I had this problem with my 2GTL on hot days,and the clasp had to be replaced under warranty. I haven't had this problem with my 3G so far.

 

Yep this problem is nothing new I had it happen on my 2000TL when it was new.
The guys with 1999 TLs had the same problem also when they came out.
I have not had that problem in a few years ater they fixed it with LOCKTITE glue.
The small screws undeneath the arm rest would fall out & it would wiggle around.
The dealer put LOCKTITE on the screws & they stayed put the armrest has not been a problem in 3yrs.
