Anyone try these License Plate LED replacements?

Instead of spending $40 + shipping for those you can simply order the LED bulbs from superbrightleds. I paid about $15 for mine shipped and from the looks of the pictures in the link you posted the brightness between those and the LED bulbs is pretty much the same thing.

I have these and they are BRIGHT: http://store.ijdmtoy.com/2825-168-19...p_acura_c3.htm
One other thing: the price may seem high but this is a pair of lights so the price is 7.50 per bulb

Don't even bother with any other ones. If you want the brightest and pure white go with these. ijdmtoy has nothing on these.

Sorry but I don't trust "ijdmtoy" lumens rating. There's no way those cheap looking small LEDs are producing over 300 lumens per bulb.

I'm using cold cathodes right now. Not plug and play but they are pretty damn bright!
The only downside is that they take some time to warm to full brightness.

Guys- these are license plate lights and not driving lights. How bright do they really need to be? The ijdmtoy lights are amply bright and have been very reliable with no flickering like I had with my previous set of LEDs installed for the license plate area.

I can post a pic of how they look on my car if you'd like, they are plenty bright and they arent even the brightest LED bulb they offer. They have another one that costs $19 per bulb but in my mind that was overkill.

I have seen so many LEDs on different cars and still love mine the most. The only LEDS I recommend are the ones from VLEDS. I purchased 6K bulbs instead of the 5k. You can purchase them with only one LED but I purchased the four LED bulb. Since there is no reflective on the housing it would be a waste of LED to buy anything other than forward LEDs (Thanks EBELP for the info). The link provided is the one I purchased and would recommend for forward bulbs on the TL.

Here is the Facebook page of VLEDs. If you wait for memorial day I am sure they will have a sale where you can purchase them up to 20-30% off. Just keep looking on their page. Currently there is a 10% off sale.

I just went to the website you provided in regards to the LEDs and I must say, for having so many LEDs (18) it really is a subtle brightness. I personally think the ones I posted above look better. I will see if I can post some pictures of mine later tonight after it gets a little darker.

I use cold cathode tubes instead of LEDs. Cost about $12, are extremely bright, perfectly white and don't have a cheap-looking blue tinge to them like some LEDs have. They look really good, and they last a long time.

I bought the "retina burner" 194 5k led bulb from vleds a couple of months back and it was very very bright....too bright if you ask me. I later swapped them out with their regular flank led bulbs and it looks a lot better. Bright is nice, but too bright looks kind of silly.

In my opinion there's no such thing as too bright. I'd put in HIDs if heat and warm up time wasn't an issue. Btw the pic makes it look like my plate is hard to read but it is not, it's just too much light for the camera to capture accurately. In person my plates have no glare whatsoever because the TL license plate light housing is recessed behind the chrome strip.
